Gerrad has won the PFA player of the year.

It is the first time Gerrard has won the prestigous award

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has claimed the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year award.

It is the first time the 25-year-old has been named player of the year by his peers, although he was Young Player of the Year in 2001.

Wayne Rooney was also named PFA young player of the year.

The premiership XI was no real surprise either with the team mostly been made up out of players from Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsena; and Chelsea.

Great choices in both despite Rooney winning the young one the year before...
Wayne Rooney seems to be so much older than a lot of the other youngsters, I suppose its because he broke into the England team so young.

Gerrard deserved it.

Fabregas deserved the young player award.

where did Henry and Fabregas come ?

He's younger than Bent, Ronaldo and Ferdinand.

He was only older than Fabregas and Lennon

Got on idea where either of them finished up although i'm pretty sure that Rooney came second in PFA player of the year.

The best players definitely won both awards.

Although Liverpool's best player of 2006 (so far) has been Harry "Peachy" Kewell (as 'girly Maureen' found out to his team's cost on Saturday afternoon).
