Do you think Hairspray is gonna be as good as the original or do you think its gonna be another case of the Producers all over again? esp seeing as it seems to be retool for the High Scool Musical/Dreamgirls auds

pointless remake - and an insult to the memory of the late, great Divine.

Waters movies... the early ones were the best - but Serial Mom is one of the funniest films ever made. Outrageous fun.

I've never seen the original, i thought this was a new film. i think the new film looks brilliant, i love queen latifah.

might see the original aswel though if its good.

the original is a classic..... see if you spot Debbie Harry in a killer Amy Winehouse wig!
is Hairspray coming out in the cinema in the UK? or jst dvd?

With all the stars in it, I thought it would be good, but it wasn't, waaaaaaaaay too many songs, it was like a NOW album <_< It was too long, it didn't have a story what so ever, the ending was tripe and the story could have been told in an advert, after the 6th song in 20 minutes, you get sooooo bored
It was David wasn't it. At least I had my friend next to me saying that Queen Latifah looked like death warmed up and that she walked like she had soiled herself, thank god  It didn't really have a story it dragged it out it took 1 1/2 hours for somone to have an affair :o It was awful but it had such a line-up of great actors in it, what a shame :(
I cant wait to see the new Hairspray ^_^ It looks genuinely good and other than the Harry Potter out now its been a good while since I remember this much hype around a new movie!

track down the original 1988 movie, Matt, with Debbie Harry and Divine - it's non-musical (more or less)... and it's 100% better (and funnier) than this awful re-make.

OMG it was awful, it was like Song, Song, Song, Word, Song, Song, Song........

yeah if filmfour dont put it on, pick up the dvd

as for the songs i know its supposed to be a straight adapt of the musical rather than the film however travolta is not divine (in both ways), he seems to be playing it like Dr Evil in drag (was Myers thought for the role i wonder???)

i walked out after 20 mins as i was sat in front of a big group of 30+ women (thats age rather than size, the kind who would be obsessed about mamma mia) who must have thought they were in some audience participation musical thing like rocky horror. parroting every funny line like an echo. so totally annoying!!! couldnt be arsed should have gona watched firehouse dog.

I can't stand movies that have song after song in them, I hated Dreamgirls and I reckon I'll hate this so I'll give it a miss :(
