Posted April 26, 200619 yr Robbie's secret dance album http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e272/handsomeman/0200619042200.jpg Mover ... Robbie has been penning dance tracks ROBBIE WILLIAMS is secretly recording a dance album – and plans to release tracks under a false name. The singer has already been in the studio with dancefloor favourites the PET SHOP BOYS and also MADONNA’s super producer WILLIAM ORBIT. He has recorded a couple of tracks with each of them and some others with hot New York-based DJ MARK RONSON. Robbie told pals he wanted to make a “Kylie-style†album with more upbeat pop/dance tracks. He is planning to release songs featuring the new sound under a pseudonym before putting the album out in August this year. A source close to Robbie said: “Rob’s last album Intensive Care was much more rocky with heavy guitar riffs. Some people around him felt it might not have appealed so much to his camp pop audience. So he decided to do a dance album. “Rob went into the studio with William Orbit to work on some tracks then also with Pet Shop Boys NEIL TENNANT and CHRIS LOWE. “He wanted the album to have really upbeat songs like the ones Kylie had on Fever, such as Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.†Orbit co-wrote and produced Madonna’s multi-million selling Ray Of Light album in 1998, which gave the Queen Of Pop a new electronica sound and reignited her career. He also wrote the classic hit Pure Shores for recently reformed girl band ALL SAINTS. The Pet Shop Boys are hot property too, doing a belting remix of Madge’s past single, Sorry, and with a new album of their own, Fundamental, out next month. One music industry source who has heard Robbie’s newly recorded tracks described them as “brilliant and differentâ€Â. The new dance project comes on top of a busy year for the singer. I told you yesterday how Robbie will turn up to perform with his old mates in TAKE THAT at some of their Manchester dates. He is also rehearsing for his own world tour, which kicks off in Britain later this year. And he’s training like mad for next month’s Soccer Aid. Robbie is leading a team of footie-mad celebs in a televised pre-World Cup match to raise money for Unicef. He will also perform a set at POSH and BECKS’ World Cup ball for charity. My source added: “Rob has no idea how to relax, so he keeps himself busy with work.†No Lazy Days ahead for Rob then.
April 26, 200619 yr Author I am not keen on this at all. The reason i like Rob is because he does'nt releases alot of camp cheesy c**p pop songs apart from Rock Dj. I perfer Rockier Robbie cause it's more raw. He will be laughed at if he releases anything that sounds like Kylie or Madge. He is supposed to want to be taken seriously as an artist and not be like other pop stars so if he releases loads of cheesy dance rubbish than i won't be happy at all. :( A rock album is what i want. I have always thought of Rob as more of a rock star cause his lyrics are fantastic and his songs are'nt cheesy like most other pop stars so i pray this is just one of Newton's bull$h!t stories again
April 26, 200619 yr I agree with everything you said Scotty. He will be seen as a joke, i doubt i could put myself through listening to a Rob song that sounded like Can't get you out of my head
April 26, 200619 yr I read about this in the Sun today, not sure if its true, apparently he is using another name
April 26, 200619 yr I agree as well. To be honest, I would perfer another Swing album than a dance album.
April 26, 200619 yr Author Yes, well before IC was releaes he was also rumoured to be using another name called "Pure Francis". I take anything Newton says with a pinch of salt cause most of the time it's false information and i hope this is no exeption. :)
April 26, 200619 yr Author I agree as well. To be honest, I would perfer another Swing album than a dance album. I agree :D
April 26, 200619 yr I have placed my thoughts on this subject in the 'Daily News' thread. I have nothing else to say except :puke2:    :banghead: :hithead: :lame:  :puke: Yip. That about covers it..... ;)
April 26, 200619 yr don't worry to much, Robbie is not a follower. So I doubt that he will put out aload of cheesy songs and especially ones with no meaning. Yikes I dread the thought if he did. He has been experimenting with this sound for well over a year now. Well, I heard some songs last year that sound very much like club mix and it did not sound like cheesy 'pop' songs to me. Robbe has more depth to him. Not my favoured choice of album, would have liked more songs from Stephen Duffy and more songs like Feel and Come Undone. So I am out on this at the moment but he has not disappointed me yet!
April 26, 200619 yr Well he was at the recording studio's with the Pet Shop Boys.. <_< I am not too sure about it either
April 27, 200619 yr I am not too sure about it either me neither Susie.... ;) its the meaning behind the songs that i am worried about, i wouldnt want a whole album full of tracks that dont have depth and spirit. Plus remixes dont really do it for me, they are too electronic for my liking, so i really dont know what to think. My only comfort is that it is coming from Robbie and like everything else he has done he has always done it superbly well and if this project does go ahead no doubt it will have the Robbie stamp on it which will give it its own edge and make it stand apart from everyone else.
April 27, 200619 yr Let's not forget that the Sun told us Intensive Care was going to be a Reggae album! I'll wait and see what he produces next and then pass judgement
August 29, 200618 yr I am not keen on this at all. The reason i like Rob is because he does'nt releases alot of camp cheesy c**p pop songs apart from Rock Dj. August 29, 200618 yr Author No, not at all. I did'nt want it to sound like Kylie or Madge and it won't
