There are a bunch of HUGE-profile stars such as Britney Spears and Eminem that are making comebacks later this year...so don't write off this year yet.

Thinking about it more, yeah Avril's also done hugely well. Arcade Fire are another act who haven't done too shabbily.

Gareth Gates was ALWAYS doomed to failure, the same would have happened if he'd launched the new album last year. People haven't been interested in him for a good four years now.

I can't see many people apart from die-hard fans of Britney rushing out to buy her new album with all the bad press she has been having <_< I hope I am proven wrong and she brings out a killer record and single!

Maroon 5 have come back HUGE this year from their previous success in 2003/4. Robin Thicke has also made a hugely more successful return after his damp squib of an album in 2003. I concur with whoever mentioned Sophie Ellis-Bextor, she did well after the disaster of her 2nd album. Kylie is bound to be a huge success when she returns with the writers and profile she has.
Jamelia and All saints flopped last year with their comebacks.

not to be funny but goin gin at number 2 in the albums is hardley a flop is it

lets face it she is doing ok and as well as she was this time when she released breakaway so let it be and stop saying it sa flop

as has avril I would say she has had a succesful comeback what with a number 1 album and 2 top 20 singles

and Dido, her new album should be a huge seller.

The whole thing about Sugababes, Natasha and Gwen flopping because they had ballads out during the summer is utter rubbish. Look no further than Mariah who spent 14 weeks atop of the US charts 2 summers ago and went to number 2 in the Uk for 3 weeks and made her album repeak in the Uk too.

Hmmm, Ray Quinn got to number 1. Getting to #2 is no big deal, you gotta stay there for 40 weeks. This was released midweek so she should be #1 next week. If she drops on a full weeks sales then its a flop.

Absolutely! Can't wait for her next album :D

I think the only thing that can determine whether or not it's a flop is if it slides down the chart faster than a whore's drawers after getting off to a good start, and no other single being able to save it (which is entirely likely).

 dont forget this years only half way through.

We have albums such as Michael Jacksons, Britney Spears, And eminem coming out later this year.

Michael will once again, bring back some life to the music industry :D

Like he did with his last couple of comebacks? Those number one singles must have passed me by.
