Songs are like flowers I sometimes think. They are listened to just as you water the flowers. The songs are appreciated more just as the flowers are when they are in full bloom. ;)

On first listen it just seems very EOM part 2 :( Not impressed yet, nothing stuck out to me.

That's the point of it. :lol: I think Migrate best describes the album, "From the party to the after party".

I'm avoiding the leaks.

 

I'm going old school - the album will go in my cd changer on Monday BUT the CD will not change for months because it is new Mariah.

 

I want it to be good. I can cope with Mimi part 2 because part 1 was so good. (The same way I coped with Daydream which was a better Music Box part 2 but could not cope with a Charmbracelet part 2.)

The Ryan Review:

 

01| Migrate - 9.5/10

 

Well i loved this ever since she performed it on SNL. Its absolutely amazing and nothing like i've ever heard before. The lyrics, beat and T-Pain who i'm not usually keen on is excellent. 3rd single please <33333

 

02| Touch My Body - 9/10

 

After being really underwhelmed by this on first listen, i thought this era was going to be pretty $h!t. But after a fair few listens i absolutely loved it. Not the best choice for lead single, but love it all the same.

 

03| Cruise Control - 7/10

 

What is that accent she is doing?!?!? :lol: It makes me laugh. Its an ok song, just filler really. Can see me skipping it alot tbh

 

04| I Stay In Love - 9/10

 

Love this. Albums second best ballad. I love the simplicity of it, the lyrics are excellent too.

 

05| Side Effects - 9/10

 

Amazing! The lyrics are so so good and the beat <333 Not too keen on Young Jeezy, bit pointless if you ask me. Great all the same. "I still live with the side effects" <333

 

06| I'm That Chick - 9/10

 

Maybe the poppiest thing she has ever done :o I love it, i can see why some people might not though. Nice cheerful song, lyrics are a bit :| at time granted :lol: But still so good. Catchy as anything.

 

07| Love Story - 7/10

 

This is not bad. The chorus is lacking i think... the verses are rather good though. Another skipping track me thinks/

 

08| I'll Be Lovin U Long Time - 9.5/10

 

Ohh myy :wub: I absolutely love this, summer single please! So so catchy and YES very "Your Girl" but better. I can see this being on repeat alot. The last 30 seconds are pure amazement.

 

09| Last Kiss - 8/10

 

This is rather nice but thats about it. I can see it growing on me a bit, has potential yet.

 

10| Thanx 4 Nothin - 8.5/10

 

Quite like this, i love the vocals and the last 50 seconds best.

 

11| O.C.C - 9/10

 

Fantastic! I love the quirkyness of it. Nice upbeat track and i too love the "Forever" parts <3333

 

12| For The Record - 8/10

 

I dunno about this one. It just seems all too much for some reason :( Maybe it will grow...

 

13| Bye Bye - 11/10

 

Words actually cant describe. This is already my favourite song on the album and now my fave Mariah song of all. Actually one of my favourite songs of all time. Its just absolutely AMAZING :wub: I think it makes it alot more special if you can relate to it... I hope this is a huge hit because it deserves to be <3333

 

14| I Wish You Well = 9/10

 

Love it! Vocals stunning and lyrics excellent. Love the simplicity and randomness of it. Reminds me very much of early Mariah.

 

 

Overall - 9/10

 

Love this, Mariah delivers once again. Still undecided on whether i prefer this or Mimi. I'm sure i will be able to answer that question better in a week or two.

the flowers are starting to grow, side effects is now in full bloom it is outstanding it up there with migrate! it is so moving, mariah's voice is full of sadness, she really has an expressive voice. amazing talented lady. i hope this gets a release but it may be too personal of a track for her to perform.

 

there are many radio friendly tracks so many single contenders, sony must be so confident with this album. she should release 5 or 6 tracks. this is going to be a great era for mariah she has already clocked a number #1 single, she just keeps getting better.

You just named the 3 which are also probably my favourites. :P Along with I'm That Chick and I'll Be Lovin U Long Time. Those 5 are sheer fabulousness. :wub:

I think most fans would prefer Migrate by far. :heehee: But they're not the same kind of song...

I'm not really feeling this album. Only two songs interest me, Migrate and I Wish You Well.

I'm about half love, half not so good with the album right now. Love Story is by far my favorite.

I hope people are still aware that there are 2 bonus tracks that we are yet to hear. Those being "4Real 4Real" and "Heat" both of which i'm looking forward to. ^_^

A lot of people seem to love Side Effects but it's definitely lacking a certain something that makes it 'wow!'.

Problem is with Mariah... she can be good, and she can be all mumbly, breathy, quiet ahd generally $h!t. This album for me so far is all of the latter :( Exactly the reason why I would never consider buying a Mariah album. I like songs you can sing along too. Breathing heavily doesn't really cut it as "singing along" for me :(

I'm not a huge fan of Mariah's breathy singing, kind of ruins some songs for me like Through The Rain. But I don't think there is that much in E=MC². Her vocals really impressed me throughout.

I'm so tempted to find the link for the leak, but it will probably stop me from buying the album if I have it all downloaded. I'm looking forward to this, I'll go into town on Monday and get it.

I have just posted this in the "Idol" thread but it belongs in here really so I have been doing my research and found out:

 

Mimi sold 406k (which was Mariah's biggest 1st week album sales) in the US to be reach #1 in 2005. Had Mariah sold that amount this week she would have sold double what the #1 will have sold. Leona Lewis is on course to sell 200k this week, which I think Mariah should manage with ease. I'm gonna estimate about 300-350k, anything over that and i'll be thrilled. ^_^

 

As for the UK, Mimi sold 20,876 in it's first week to reach #7, had it been released this week it would have been #4. I really can't predict Mariah's UK album sales so I won't even try. :lol: I hope for Top10 at LEAST. :arrr:
