Posted July 1, 200718 yr Rumour has it Rob is going to show up at todays big Diana gig at Wembley. Apperently he was'nt at his LA Vale footy match last night, and there is a special guest with TT so it is a possibility. Also, Harry randomly mentioned Rob's name in yesterday's Sun. Here is the extract. ^_^ The lads also showed a good sense of humour when they laughed about how they are just average Joes when it comes to celebrity connections. Harry mused: “We don’t have the contacts. Apparently we can’t just ring up people like ROBBIE WILLIAMS.” Saturday, June 30, 2007 'Concert for Diana' lineup set Music giants to pay tribute to the life of the people's princess. By JIM FARBER New York Daily News Princes William and Harry had just one request for their mother's favorite musician, Sir Elton John, for her anniversary concert this weekend. They asked that he not perform the weepy "Candle in the Wind," the song he revealed at her funeral with new, and especially maudlin, lyrics. After all, this is a concert meant to celebrate Princess Diana's life, not commemorate her death, which occurred 10 years ago. VH1 plans to air all six hours of the show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.. The five-hour time difference from London accounts for the early hour here. NBC will broadcast highlights of the event at 8 p.m. According to VH1, the day will be divided into three 90-minute segments, with the middle bit a tad fatter. Twenty-minute breaks will fall between segments, but the nonperformance sections will be crammed with lots of taped segments, toasting Diana's life and explaining her personal connections to some of the performers. Here's a current rundown of who's set to appear: First segment A welcome from Princes William and Harry Elton John Nelly James Morrison Lily Allen The Feeling Fergie Duran Duran The English National Ballet Second segment Status Quo Joss Stone Orson Roger Hodgson of Supertramp Tom Jones Will Young Natasha Bedingfield Pharrell Bryan Ferry An Andrew Lloyd Webber performance, featuring Donny Osmond and Andrea Bocelli. Third segment Rod Stewart Kanye West Diddy Take That (plus Special Guest) Elton John
July 1, 200718 yr Author Hm, odd that Harry mentioned Rob's name. You would think he would've mentioned someone who was actually confirmed for showing up. And this TT having a special guest thing is also quite odd. I am hoping it's Lulu myself Reason being, is because I can't see it working - TT and Rob. And I would'nt want Rob just being TT's 'guest' and then just walking off stage, he has sold more albums in the past decade and ANYONE that is performing tomorrow and that is a fact - if he is showing up, then he should be doing his own set of his own songs. -_- I am gobsmacked George Michael is not going to be there He was Diana's favourite singer, so surely he would've been the most ideal person? Does he have a gig that day or something? Him and Elt could've done a duet, it would've been suitable. Also, maybe the suprise guest is Michael Jackson. Perhaps he will sing Dirty Diana as apperently that was her fave song. If he sang 'Angels', then I would'nt be so against the TT reunion. As I said before, since Diana died 10 years ago, not a single one of those acts on the bill have had anyehere near the amount of success as Robbie both in the UK and worldwide, so him being a 'special guest' to TT would be ridiculous. And I really cannnot see how it would work. Ok, so if they do do it, then I presume it will be 'Could it be magic' that they will sing? That requiurs all the silly dance moves etc, sorry but I would seriously cringe if I had to see Rob doing all that noncense again. It would look like a joke, and also, is'nt he injured? Therefor he won't be doing dance moves and CIBM is not the type of song that you just stand there for. Unless they sing Everything Changes (which is far better imo). The only good thing that would come of it, would be that, it would end all these reunion rumours once and for all and get it out of the way. I would like to be proved wrong, and for it to be excellent and work very well, but I just can't imagine it. It just sounds akward imo. TT are near the end anyway, so between 9-9.30 tonight. If Rob was in London, I really doubt he would've got through unnoticed, especially considering he has'nt been in the UK since 10 months ago (last Sep was'nt it?) :o
July 1, 200718 yr Author A little off-topic I know but, when is the Diana gig broadcast over here? Starts at 3.30pm on BBC1. It's on till 10 tonight ^_^
July 1, 200718 yr Starts at 3.30pm on BBC1. It's on till 10 tonight ^_^ I'll have to watch it after the chart then, thanks ^_^ As for this, I agree wichoo. If Robbie IS the special guest then it'd be a bit odd, unless he performed his own set as well because after all, he's one of our most successful artists of all time and he should be doing his own thing. He's sold millions times more records than Lily Allen but she has her own set. So to conclude, I don't think this will be Robbie.

Absolutelly. ^_^ I would love him to do his own set, and then if after that he performs with TT then I would'nt have a such an issue with it. It would just be fantastic for him to appear out of the blue and blow all the others away just like he did at Live 8. That performance was simply legendary and was by far the hightlight of the whole days event, hence why he got by far the loudest reception, and once he finished performing half the people left  He has'nt been in the UK in 10 months, which is a long time so it would be nice for him to do it, but if he does'nt I won't be dissapointed. I have said all along that he needs a long break and should'nt come back till next year, but I would by no means be against him showing up and singing 'Angels', as it is a very appropriatesong for the event, and it is also it's 10th anniversary. :P
July 1, 200718 yr I don't like this. -_- It's only rumours and I don't want to but I'm getting a bit excited.. I guess the possibility is there but I'm telling myself in the end the mystery guest won't be him. Besides - maybe the special guest with TT is the princes, there were press reports they'd sing with TT right ?
July 1, 200718 yr Is it DOG/CAT/BUNNY eating time again....I can still feel the fur in my throat over ' LOST ' so I am not going that road again.... :drama: I am keeping my mouth firmly shut this time ( & that will be an achievement )...... :)

I just can't see the TT thing working out without me cringing tbh. :(

I just can't see the TT thing working out without me cringing tbh. :( I would love to see RW come out on stage & sing whether it be solo or with TT. :P Either way I am not gonna cry over it...I follow RW as a solo artist & he will never go back full time with TT....a one off maybe ...fulltime...no.... They no longer have anything in common either personally (he lives in the States & too much time has passed ) or ( musically ... there material is nothing alike ). <_< I think TT are very good at doing what they do.. :music: RW writes the kind on songs that I like & lyrics that come from his heart & that I listen to...he catches my whole attention when he performs . Will he come out on stage tonight ...I do not think so...His pals Jonny & Dec were at the match last night in LA so I would find it a bit peculiar if they were over there while RW was in London. I did not bother having any tea as I had to leave enough room for the DOG/CAT & BUNNY..................... :drama: :puke:
July 1, 200718 yr I highly doubt that Rob will pop out on stage with them - he'd hate to have to "stand up for the key change" as it were. I would love to see Rob doing it on his own, but I have no idea how Rob and TT would be onstage together and work it out. If he did come on I think it would only be for one song.
