Here's what the official singles chart would look like if it only contained dance genre music (eg. no pop with dance remixes):-

Note: This is midweeks for this week's chart (we can see how it compares with Sunday's chart!)

(-) shows actual midweek position

1 Calvin Harris - Girls (13)

2 Alibi vs Rockefeller (43) :yahoo:

3 Armand van Helden (55)

4 Rogue Traders - Voodoo Child (61)

5 Shapeshifters (63)

6 Calvin Harris - Acceptable (71)

7 Groove Armada - Song 4 Mutya (78)

8 Booty Luv (80)

9 Cascada - Never Ending Dream (85)

10 Alex Gaudino (104)

11 Bob Sinclar (129)

12 Cascada - Everytime (139)

13 Tiesto - Adagio (142)

14 FLG - Detroit (178)

15 DJ Sammy - Heaven (181) :o

16 Camille Jones (187)

17 Masters At Work (196)

No sign of Jay C or DT8 Project!!! Both physically released this week!!

It just proves there's bog all dance in the charts, we've got one dance song in the entire top 40 and thats c**p, most of its at the bottom end. Shameful.

To be fair these songs were all big hits and have been hanging around for a while...

Most of the rest of the dance songs are average to poor and don't deserve success...

The new Shapeshifters single is glorified rubbish - hardly any support from radio hasn't helped either. Dance music is far from dead - I just think that there is a lot less space for tracks to be hit now that the charts move so very slow. I pay little attention to the charts nowadays (purely because I think most of the stuff in it is $h!te).

I think The Chemical Brothers are dance too.

Alibi vs Rockefeller - Sexual Healing is such an amazing song, should go to at least top10 imo ^_^

Like many commercial dance acts, the Shapeshifters have got slowly worse with each single with a lower chart position to reflect each drop in quality -_-

Lola's Theme was sensational, Back To Basics was good, Incredible was quite good, Sensitivity was bland, and Pusher just lacks something special...

Well what can you expect when radio only seem to care about the latest indie band that sounds just like... oh wait... any other indie band.

I'm sure the indie/rock ilk feel the same way about dance music... but yeah I have to agree, I can't tell them apart - all these indie-rock bands look like a set of Topman Manikins with guitars with their wavey greasy hair and skinny jeans... :puke2: Radio 1 seem to play far too much of this rubbish!

As for Shapeshifters, I actually thought 'Sensitivity' was really good track - I liked all 4 of their singles, but this latest one just sounds so forced and lacking.
