Posted April 27, 200619 yr Philip Scolari has meant to have been offerd the England job by the FA but he dosent want to sign till after the WC. It looks like he'll be our new manager. The best choice IMO.
April 27, 200619 yr I would much rather it had been an Englishman but if its got to be a foreigner then probably the best foreigner we could have had. At least he has emotions.
April 27, 200619 yr Author His record id brilliant. It looks pretty likely it'll be him now. I hope he gets it anyway.
April 27, 200619 yr no no no !!!!!!!!!!!! in a people vote it went like this allardyce 45% o'neill 34% scolari 12% mcClaren 7% curbishley 2% im backin big sam we need a english manager that will have the faith
April 27, 200619 yr Sorry to all Arsenal fans but is that idiot whose their Vice Chairman that gave us Sven and its his fault there gonna go for Big Phil. He'll be in the ob for 2 years and then pack up and leave. He can barely speak English and he doesn't even know how the English game works. O'Neill would be the best choice IMO.

Aparently he's agreed a 3 year deal....
April 27, 200619 yr I wanted Martin O'Neill (ex-Notts Forest captain & protegee of Brian Clough) to get the job. Apparently he said in in his "job interview" that all he wanted to do was win the World & European Cup & when asked about the media, etc he could not give a monkeys what they think of him - so that got him ruled out! Personally, I'm relieved "the people's choice" Sam Allardyce is not going to get the job - because he would be Graham Taylor 2 (ie. a total disaster IMHO) - Anybody who does not think a fully fit David Beckham is worthy of a place in the team is a fool who has not been watching La Liga on Sky Sports (Remember this guy has gone on record as saying that Kevin Davies is the best English midfielder in the country!) Well we've got the best man for the job - although why David Dein who's club (Arsenal) has a policy over the last six years of getting rid of any half-decent Englishmen should be the kingmaker then God only knows. Roll on Four Year's time & give the job to "Psycho" (Another Brian Clough protegee - Stuart Pearce)!
April 27, 200619 yr Yeah if Big Phil gets the jon I think that the FA are looking at the short-term side of things. This maybe could be to do with the fact that they don't rate Allardyce etc, and they don't think that managers like Pearce are experienced enough to do a decent job.
April 27, 200619 yr I'm hoping that the FA change their minds. How can we appoint a guy that got beaten by Greece TWICE in the same tournament when they were the Home Nations. If he does anything like that the media will be all over him in England.

April 27, 200619 yr Well on the way to doing that he beat England TWICE as well. I still have painful memories of those games........ and I still think both teams were lucky to beat us ;)
April 28, 200619 yr I would much rather it had been an Englishman but if its got to be a foreigner then probably the best foreigner we could have had. At least he has emotions. I agree, I dunno why but I always prefer Englishmen but they aren't always best for the job, let us remember Kevin Keegan. -_-
April 28, 200619 yr I don't think Sam Allardyce would have been another Taylor. There could never be another Turnip surely.
April 28, 200619 yr I don't think Sam Allardyce would have been another Taylor. There could never be another Turnip surely. Big Sam wouldn't have been bad but Steve "Mr Exciting" McClaren would have been another Graham Taylor -_-
April 28, 200619 yr obviously it would be great too see an english men.But i do feel scalari has got what it takes to help england win somthing soon. I mean ok let's be honest at this present time do we really have any decnet english men for the Job? Look at the top 5english clubs non of them are from england (chelsea, man u,liverpool, spurs, arsenal). Edited April 28, 200619 yr by Oasis
April 28, 200619 yr Author He has said he wont be the the next England manager. He said it's becuase the press invaded his privacey. FFS the press have ruined the possibility of England having one of the best National coach's becuase they are noisey tossers. Now it'll be McLaren or Allerdyce. JOY.
April 28, 200619 yr Thats the English media.....i'm kinda glad in a way because I don't think he's the right person to manage England and his persoanlity is a bit wacked. I think it will probably be McLaren or maybe O'Neill.
April 28, 200619 yr Well Done to the British media. They have hounded Sven Goran-Eriksson to announce that he is leaving after the World Cup, which has created this frenzy as to who the next manager would be and now this. A Total farce. Give the job to Matin O'Neill who is a brilliant manager & wont give a $h1t to the English media.
