April 5, 200619 yr They ask for an address if you fill in those little forms in the c.d. cases. That might account for me never getting any artist info, 'cos I've never filled one in. :D I am registered on Wills official site though, and I still never get anything, not even an e-mail.
April 5, 200619 yr I'm registered with Sony/BMG and I frequently receive e-mails promoting their artists, but I have to say I have received at least 4 times as many for Will, than I have for any other artists including Shayne and Westlife. I've not received a post-card, but I would think they need to have your address for some reason to be able to send you one of those. And they certainly have not got mine. thats weird because i very rarely get a email for Will, but i get loads for westlife chico shayne infact every artist i dont like except for the one i signed up for :( maybe we should swap :P :lol:

But can I decline any of Chico's please :lol: I do find it very strange though, because I haven't signed up to any artists mailing list other than to info from Sony/BMG who I believe they all are signed to. He looked good but sounded a bit pathetic in the interview although it maybe wasn't his fault because the interviewer was totally rubbish and asked the same question 'So how does it feel? April 5, 200619 yr It's a nice song but I really am having my doubts about it's chart success. Yeah, it's getting the promotion but I really can't see the masses rushing out and buying it. Sure, it will be succesful with a top 10 but I fail to see this going to #1 like 'That's My Goal'.
April 5, 200619 yr I saw Shayne on TV this morning too, I hope he gets at least a year out of the music industry before SC gets bored and moves on to his next project. I won't be buying the album or the single though, No promises went round and round in my head all morning and I only caught a bit of it during the interview, that was enough, thankfully on hearing that Jean Pitney has passed away my mind took me to 24hrs to Tulsa instead.

April 8, 200619 yr I'm thinking it's the area you live in val4jaden, I live about 30mins away from Manchester and we've received 2 postcards this week for his album launch, I'm guessing if you don't live in that area you won't get one. :) I live in Manchester and I didn't get one :cry: - BMG haven't got my address either though and I don't think they've got psychics on the payroll - well not yet anyway ;) :D edit: Oh, nearly forgot :P I think No Promises is a 'nice' song - it's very 'out of the Scandinavian Song Writer collection' sounding, sort of Westlife meets Daniel Bedingfield with a bit of Blue-stylee rhythm thrown in there for me - but it is a nice song though, not a 'blow me away song' lol! - but I quite like it. I think that's mainly because I really like Shayne's singing voice though. I'm not generally a 'covers' fan, but I'm not totally against them either, it all depends whether I like the song and version of it. This particular track doesn't sound that much different to the original to me, but because the original wasn't a UK song, or one I was familiar with before hearing Shayne's version, then it's as if Shayne's was the original one to me anyway I suppose. In spite of any criticisms I could level at marketing strategies/systems/the music industry etc... that are applied in different ways with different artists, the advantages and the disadvantaged etc... I try my best not to let those things influence whether I actually like the artist/music or not - hard to avoid being brainwashed though I know :P I think the song has had a reasonable amount of exposure on the internet; tv's etc... I'm well aware it's out on Monday, put it that way ;) - but I've not heard it on the radio much yet though. I'm not generally a singles buyer, unless I really like the artist or the b-sides, but I might buy/download this one particularly because I would like to see Shayne do well - because I think he has talent. I think it's far too early for me to judge how talented he really is as yet - but I do like what I've seen/heard of him so far, so I hope he gets the chance for me to find out at least :) Edited April 8, 200619 yr by Secret_Song
April 8, 200619 yr It's out this monday wait and we will see! But I believe in the first day sales at number one will be gnarles. Shayne may get to no.1 by the end of the week.. in y opinion.
April 8, 200619 yr Odd this may sound but I still havent heard this song, I turned over from davina before Shane came on as it was so awful, To be honest there is nothing wrong with his voice, but the songs are so predictable at present and don't offer anything new at all. And I don't get any leaflets, although lots of emails but usually about strange hip hop bands or people I havent even heard of! I must have registered with Mercury so am getting them from them?(I have never had any promo stuff concerning Will Young though)
