This week's NME sees the magazine on the road with Arctic Monkeys for 48 hours during their current sold-out UK tour.

'Tis a good read this week, I reccommend it :cheer:

NOTE: Please no 'oh NME is $h!t, people only like Arctic Monkeys because NME w*nk on them, aren't I so cool for slagging of the NME etc."

Well that's why I said it  People are allowed their opinions but it gets annoying when people go over the top and say things over and over again.
No, but I´m serious. Isn´t this the same magazine who put their album in the all time best 10 albums ever-like list just in the week they have released it? To think that a few years ago everything the strokes released would be among the best of all time, I´m thinking the monkeys will be lucky to be in a Top 1000 list in a few years...

Ar! You'll see ;) it's a great album but I have no idea how they can call it the one of the best albums of all time NOW. And The Strokes are still doing well for themselves with their first #1 album and it's actually QUITE GOOD for once :o I didn't like their first twp albums myself.

Thats a bit of an under-statement. The whole reason with The Strokes was that they were fresh but all their stuff sounded the same. The Arctic Monkeys stuff doesn't. Ok NME jumped the gun a bit when they put it in the top albums thing but its only an opinion after all and everybody has a different taste in music.

Exactly :D and my little note worked as it created a calm discussion ;)
Everyone has their own opinion... That´s why I detest hype. It´s chosing your music based on what a few journalists prefer, or basing on the type of clothes the artist uses. Indie fans have always criticized pop, but its strange that opinions on the indie scene seem to be more flexible then among the "normal down to earth not so intelligent people", since people who were cool yesterday will not be tomorroy (The Darkness). That´s the problem with being famous on hype. They can be the best band of all time today, but in a few months they can be a total joke.

Yeah I know what you mean of The Srctic Monkeys been like The Darkness, but The Darkness, well people thought of them as a joke and why wouldn't you?. A guy with a really high voice in lepoard skin?.

The AM are different though IMO, I mean sure NME have hyped them up loads but I did't hear about them through NME, and i'm sure a lot of people didn't.

I've never seen people actually do that myself  You hear about people through that, yes but I would have thought people become interested to hear about artists through hype and then make their OWN judgement.
