Are you for real? Sorry but the record company doesn't make money by an album going Top 10 - they make money by an album SELLING. TTLF has not sold anything like enough yet to warrant giving Sophie a future album so she better hope it starts shifting.

She may have mentioned future albums but perhaps this wasn't wise.

More like are you for real - the albums ONLY been out like around 12 weeks

Sophie mentioned the new albums last week so clearly as of last week the album had sold enough for her to produce a new album obviously after another 2 singles from TTLF.

And the record company are letting HER choose what songs she is releasing which means its not all about the money/her songs are making enough for them to be ok with this.

You sound SO GULLIBLE :(

As of THIS WEEK the album has sold 33k. If you think she'll get another album with sales like that, you clearly know jack about the industry.

I have wondered myself why Sophie has been able to decide which songs to release. I don't know much about the industry, but don't the record label usually make the decisions?

Today The Sun's On Us is a gorgeous song with great lyrics and should be doing loads better than it is, but it wasn't a good song to release to get a big reaction from the public. I hope If I Can't Dance will come around quickly after this one and turn things around.

I was reading the Summer Sundae Festival forum the other day and there are lots of really positive comments about Sophie's performance, and they're not from pop fans either. She's on top form with all the live performances!

Im surprised your a moderator the way you speak to people

How about we see if she releases another album - then see whos laughing

Im not being rude to you, merely telling you that you are speaking utter poop. It astounds me, and I'm not exaggerating, that you believe that because Sophie mentioned future albums, you are utterly convinced they are on the cards, they are definite. The silliest comment you've made has to be that despite sales, because the album got Top 10 she isn't going to be dropped - surely you cant honestly believe that?!

I love Sophie, I'm a fan, but nobody should be so delluded as to believe that even with the record label bosses Sophie has on her side, less than 35k sales will guarantee another album?!

omg get OVER the sales - its been out 12 weeks! albums come - what yearly? every 18 months? im sure by 18 months there will be enough sold...

So whatever end of convo - lets agree to disssagree

I think unless Trip The Light Fantastic at least beats Shoot From The Hip's sales, Sophie is far from safe. :(

It's not too late, but quite worrying at this stage. :(

Sorry, but your bubble needs to be burst -_- Jack is 100% right! It doesn't matter if the album went to No.1, if the sales are not even silver then its not very likely she will get another album tbh, :( Need to hope the album sales improve FAST!

And you say its only been out 12 weeks, that is a long time, and it is the time when the album will sell the bulk of the total sales, plus! this is the third single, not the first -_-

Im really worried for her  I love TTSOU soo much  my favourite single shes ever released  and its not even gonna go Top 40 :arrr:

haha you guys... i agree with your both kinda i know what you saying.

With all thes gigs Sophie is doing and her tour the sales might increase and like designer label said its only been 12 weeks and its hard for pop music to be a hit in the UK lol which is a shame. Also if Sophie is talking about her future albums and a GH album its shows that shes not getting dropped just yet lol.... but at the end of the day they do look at sales not chart postions. Every artist goes thorugh a bad patch but Sophie has had 2 successful albums.

The songs out of the iTunes pop chart for now, but with V this weekend it should re-enter do you think. I hope so!

Also, the release of Today The Sun's On pushed the album up on iTunes, but it's falling gradually again atm, currently at #41.

Let's see what V Festival can do, i'm sure Soph's performance is gonna be a damn good one! :D

Yes theres the V festival AND the fact its the weekend - people shop mainly at weekends - meaning theres possibility of her CD being brought by some more people.

a travesty :( when you consider some of the trash in the top 40

and ticket sales from the tour will be another factor in Sophie's future not just the album

JESUS! 10 places worse than I had feared :o

Yes yes, you're all going to blame the song. 'A poor single choice'?

No, absolutely sh!t promotion.
