Posted July 13, 200719 yr Charts #1-#4 DANCING DJS VS. ROXETTE - FADING LIKE A FLOWER http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/3679782.JPG This absolute stunner of a song was my very first #1 back in the summer of 2005. An instant hit with me got me rather wet eah time I heard it. It remained #1 for four weeks for me, and probably would've been there four weeks before had I started my chart earlier. It finished #2 on the YTD and deserved to do far better in the UK charts. :( Chart #5 KELLY CLARKSON - BEHIND THESE HAZEL EYES http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876730302.JPG The best song ever by Ms Clarkson is this gem. Reminds me very much of summer 05 this song does, in a sort of depressing but aww way. You know what it's like! While this only stayed at #1 for a week, it was one of my faves of the year. Chart #6 PUSSYCAT DOLLS F/ BUSTA RHYMES - DON'T CHA http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/9885657.JPG Anyone who says they don't like this song is such a liar. The catchiess and fantasticness of it is unbelievable. And as you can tell, I loved it rather a lot too. ^_^ The group have come back with some pretty stuff since this release two years ago, but nothing has or ever will be as big as this I feel. :D Chart #7 ROUTE 1 F/ JENNY FROST - CRASH LANDING http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/12DJGLOBE446.JPG A rather strange song climbing to #1 here, God knows what got into me tbh. It flopped horrendously on the UK charts and I can see why. Still catchy though. Charts #8-#9 GARBAGE - CRUSH http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/GARBAGEPRECD.JPG The theme tune to Sky One's excellent Hex remained atop of my chart for two weeks. The song that got me into Garbage here, and will soon be released on their GH collection. :D Chart #10 UNITING NATIONS - AI NO CORRIDA http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/CDGUS25.JPG This amazing third single from Uniting Nations became their first #1 for me. After hearing Out Of Touch in Christmas 2004, I eagerly awaited anything else they were going to release. Their second single was dire, but this was amazing. Laura More's excellent vocals provided another UK chart hit for Daz and the other bloke. :D
July 13, 200719 yr I agree about the Dancing DJs i loved that  and you get rather wet hearing it ??? :o the second Uniting Nations song was amazing  i bought all 3 of their songs and their album its pretty good ^_^
July 13, 200719 yr Author Chart #11-#18 ENYA - AMARANTINE http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/WEA397CD1.JPG The comeback from Enya was a massive success on my chart, reigning at the top for some eight weeks. It went on to endure a massive 52 weeks on my chart, and although not hugely successful in the UK, the album sold some six million worldwide. My 2005 YTD #1 and still a song I listen to regularly now. ^_^ Chart #19 TEXAS - SLEEP http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/9872415.JPG This great song from the end of 2005 had a pretty good chart run for me and finished well in both the 2005 and 2006 YTDs. A contender for my favourite Texas song here, from the album Red Book. The album did quite $h!t here, and indeed all over the world, but it was actually pretty good. Deserved more. Chart #20-#21 POGUES & KIRSTY MACCOLL - FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/2564622542.JPG This festive offering from the Pogues and Kisty MacColl was my Christmas #1 of 2005, and to many is the definitive Christmas song. A great song that I love every Christmas and deserves a place here. :D
July 13, 200719 yr I like Daffyd :funky: ALL of the above songs, yes ALL, are suitably camp and cheesy. Hmm, how many weeks after the Uniting Nations made #1 did you fall out of that closet?

July 13, 200719 yr Author Chart #22 DHT F/ EDMEE - LISTEN TO YOUR HEART http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/DATA109CDS.JPG This amazing song actually spent seven weeks on my chart before reaching #1 - six at #2 or #3 as well, but I love it still. This is the slow version btw. Amazing song, and was a pretty big song across the country in late 2005. Charts #23-#24/#27 HELENA PAPARIZOU - MAMBO http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/CDGLOBE585.JPG This camp Eurosong is amazing. The amazing second album it came from, "The Game of Love" outshone much of her earlier work. This did well for me, becoming one of my fave songs of 2006, and it also got a release in the UK and was heavily plugged by The Box. Shame it flopped really. :( Charts #25-#26 SHAKIRA - DON'T BOTHER http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876752622.JPG This got quite a bit of criticism at the time, but I loved it! :o Can hardly believe it's well over a year old tbh as it is still a great song to me. This got me into Shakira a bit more and inspired me to buy Oral Fixation II, a very good album! Chart #28 KT TUNSTALL - ANOTHER PLACE TO FALL http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/CDRELX06.JPG Quite a surprising #1 here for me, but this song is probably my fave from the album. Flopped as a single in the UK, but a good song all the same. :D Chart #29 MODERN - INDUSTRY http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/9874798.JPG The Modern appeared here with a very good song, capable of a high position in the UK charts, and of course it got to #1 on mine too. Shame they f***ed up and tried to bulk order a load of copies though and become chart illegible wasn't it? :w00t: Good song though. Chart #30 LL COOL J F/ JENNIFER LOPEZ - CONTROL MYSELF http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/9853569.JPG Ahhh this song is so amazing! Such a great song in 2006 and it rightly got a #1 position from me. :D It did reasonably well in the real charts too, to say it had such a build up. :( Love this so much though!!!!!!!!!!!! :w00t:
July 17, 200719 yr Author Charts #31-#40 ENYA - IT'S IN THE RAIN http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/WEA414CD.JPG This was always going to be a big success on my chart, right from hearing the album I loved it and then Enya released it as a single. It lasted 30 something weeks on my chart and made a late reappearance to the top 20 following the WMAs 2006. I hope for other songs as good as this on her album this winter. :w00t:
July 17, 200719 yr Author Chart #41/#45 JEWEL - GOODBYE ALICE IN WONDERLAND http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/7567837992.JPG This was never actually a single, but there was an accompanying video so I just charted it anyway. An amazing song, one of my faves from this artist and she had a pretty good chart run, even returning to the top spot after a three week absense. Coms from a great album too. Chart #42-#43 CAROLA - INVINCIBLE http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/9853831.JPG The best song from Eurovision 2006 by miles imo, so good from Sweden. ^_^ Chart #44 JEWEL - AGAIN AND AGAIN http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/7567942222.JPG Another #1 song from Jewel here, and another excellent one. Lasted just a week at the top though, but was knocked off by herself! Chart #46 ANNA VISSI - EVERYTHING http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876853962.JPG A song I was never that keen on until after the Eurovision, but it was a great entry from Greece and very successful on my chart. ^_^ Chart #47 RIHANNA - UNFAITHFUL http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/9878575.JPG Better than Umbrella. :w00t: Amazing song. Chart #48 DIVA DJS VS. NICKI FRENCH - TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/817310cd.JPG I really liked this. :( Bit of an embarassment but oh well. Charts #49-#50 DIXIE CHICKS - NOT READY TO MAKE NICE http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876861242.JPG What a song!!! So amazing, should've had so much more success in the UK. :( Would've been #1 for four weeks had I not gone to Croatia in the middle of charts #49 and #50, so it was unlucky in that respect.
