Posted April 29, 200619 yr Well when i see Roblive in June it will be my 5th time to see him :D I first saw him in Slane in 1999, it was absolutely amazing and is the best gig i have EVER been to. , I also saw him in Landsdown Road in Dublin for 2 nights and that was also brilliant, and then my 4th was in 2003 in Phoenix park which is his biggest gig to date i believe (140,000). :cheer: That was of course also fantastic Roll on Croke Park
April 29, 200619 yr This will be my 4th trip to see Robbie. I saw him at Murrayfield the last time he toured, Hampden the time before that and the SECC before that. All were fabulous gigs. :cheer: I'll tell you about Murrayfield as it is freshest in my mind. All week before the concert it was chucking it down. The Friday in particular was torrential rain and gale force winds. I was really panicking we were going to be 'washed out'. However, the skies cleared on the Saturday morning and by the time our minibus reached Edinburgh the weather was gorgeous (and it stayed that way all weekend) We bought our 'carry out' and munchies and joined thousands of other fans for a big picnic on the enormous grass area outside Murrayfield. The atmosphere was amazing. Then a big van arrived with blacked out windows and escort vehicles. Someone shouted 'Robbie' and there was this almighty stampede from all corners. It turned out to be Kelly Osbourne so everybody returned to their picnic, disgruntled. We didn't really fancy the Support Acts so we continued our sunbathing until Robbie time was approaching. And then joined the queues for the toilets. Oh God.... I'm wearing a nappy the next time. So to Robbie. He appeared suspended in the air. The sun was just setting and he was silhouetted against it. Amazing. He was in great voice and we all sang and bounced about for the next 1 and 1/2 hours. It was over all too quick. What I didn't like- - The long queues for the loos - The number of 'fans' staggering about and collapsing through alcohol overload. Idiots. <_< One girl standing near me passed out just before Robbie came on and was carted off by the St John's Ambulance Service, missing the whole concert. Her pals slumped to the ground and threw up soon after.... - The 2 hours it took our bus to get along about a mile on Corstorphine Road when the concert was over. Roll on Hampden 2006 :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
April 29, 200619 yr Wow, I can't wait!!!!! :cheer: I havent seen Robbie in concert before and am soooooooo excited, seeing him in September where, I don't know yet because of Wembley not being ready. Getting excited reading reviews about peoples experiences of his concerts though. Your comment about the toilets did make me wonder jupiter9, what do you do if you get a really good spot near the stage and you need to go, my worst fear, I've only ever been to concerts where you have numbered seats and if you get up, the seat will still be there when you get back. Lol, good idea about the nappy :D either that or dont drink all day.
April 29, 200619 yr Author Well i'm sure you will love the gig wherever it is Sparkle cause he is undoubtably the greatest live performer on the planet today. :D I have seen alot of bands/singers live and nobody (except maybe U2 ;) ) come even remotly close to a Rob gig  He gets the crowd going like no other can Edited April 29, 200619 yr by Scotty
April 29, 200619 yr The secret is not to drink (unless it's really warm then you die of dehydration). I managed to hold in my wee wee from 3pm to 12pm at an REM outdoor concert last year. Otherwise, plan your bog trips carefully. Loads of people will head for the loos about 15 mins before Rob comes on stage. Bad idea. You won't get near them.... If you are standing I'm afraid it's a case of elbowing your way through the crowds and you and your friends not all heading for the loo at the same time (or your much fought for place will indeed have disappeared). Finding your pals when you come back can be difficult so try to get one of them to wear a big hat. Or take a friend who is a basketball player.
April 29, 200619 yr The Croke Park gig in June will be my 14th RW concert  The last time I saw him on tour was @ Manchester cricket ground in 2001. Those 3 gigs were amazing :D One of my personal faves is the London Astoria gig in 2005. :cheer: Rob sang live the songs from the IC album, which I have to say are fantastic live, especially A Place To Crash :) Roll on Dublin & Hampden Park 2006
