After the utter abortion that was "Rise of the Machines", I had very little hope for this series, but I saw the pre-air pilot available on my usual Torrent site and thought "Meh, what the hell", and was pleasantly surprised by how seriously NOT BAD AT ALL it actually is... Firstly, and most importantly I feel, it COMPLETELY short-circuits the continuity set up in the third film by having John and Sarah jump through time from 1999 to 2007 to stop a mysterious corporation from re-activating Skynet... The Connors are aided in their quest this time by a cool female Terminator played by "Firefly/Serenity" star Summer Glau (who played River in that incredible and shockingly under-rated series...) who is sent back through time by Future John, this time not only to protect John and Sarah, but to stop whoever is trying to re-activate Skynet... Sarah is played very well by Brit actress Lena Heady, a more than adequate replacement for Linda Hamilton I feel. John is played by Thomas Dekker (Zach from "Heroes")...

I've watched both this and the pre-air pilot for "Bionic Woman" - and frankly in the "battle of the cyborgs" stakes, Terminator crushes the life out of BW.....

Will Arnie be in it :(

Nope.. Thank God.... Come on Kate, the guy's pushing 60 now, how on Earth could he seriously play that sort of role anymore, the Terminators are supposed to be these "ageless" cyborgs...? It was one of the many things I found ludicrous about the third film - The "Pensionator"....

Besides, he's a bit too busy governing California at the moment....

I think Virgin One are also showing Lost (season 3) and 24 (season 6) in the autumn

back on topic, I've read an article on this new series, and it does look good, so I might have a peek at it.

What about the T1000 and the TX??!! I liked Kristiana Lokken. She needed to be more violent.

The reason that the TX wasn't more violent was the fact that "Rise of the Machines" was a pissy "12" Certificate.... <_< Lokken was okay I suppose, but hardly what you'd call a particularly good actress....

Coming to a TV screen pretty soon, I believe next month.

This is a good idea to reanimate Terminator. If they made a prequel movie I would kill myself but tv series seems like poisonless. If it's a c**p, it wont matter really as its not movie...

I saw trailer and I got excited :) I hope it'll come to Poland soon

Does anyone known when this series is hitting Virgin1, it was suppose to start this month, I think it got hit by the writers strike.

It's running in America at the moment (they're about 3 episodes in) and it's getting very good reviews and very good ratings too. There's 5 or 6 episodes left to air in America and it's only a mid-season show so I think there's 13 episodes in this season? I'm not sure though. Virgin1 might be holding it back because of she strike though.

There hasn't been much on lately in terms of newer shows so I've tuned in and I enjoy the series so far. ^_^ It's pretty interesting and obviously brings me back to those movies...
I didn't know this movie..when it was released????

Its a TV series actually it should be released soon on Virgin1

On the Virgin 1 forums and Cable Forum they're saying it airs 21st February :cheer:
