Country ('Islands In The Stream') became Rap ('Ghetto Superstar')

Audio Bullys used Nancy Sinatras laid back 'Bang Bang' in thier #3 Dancey hit 'Shot you down' from 2005.

Of course there's Rihannas' R'n'B/Pop based 'S.O.S'..which uses 'New Wave electro' sampled 'Tainted Love' by Soft Cell.

And even Nancy's wasn't the original version. The original was by Cher and was her second Top 10 hit reaching #2 in 1966. Nancy's was an album track later that year.

It's also true for Tainted Love. Soft Cell didn't do the original version of that either. The original was a Northern Soul song by Gloria Jones.

Sophie EB's Take Me Home was a cover version which was originally done by Cher around 1979.
