Posted May 1, 200619 yr Well so with so much media coverage around for the past few days i'm off to sum up what is going on. Terry and Owen both seem fine and the Owen injury was only a scare but scans have showed that no further damage was done to his foot. However in one of the papers today it said that if Owen wasn't 100% fit he won't travel to Germany. I don't think Sven would do that. The Rooney update is that Sven wants him to go to the world cup and thinks they can win it without him though. Gerrard seems to think differentley, and Rooney is said to have told his Man Utd team mates thta he won't be fit for the world cup. Maureen seems to want more attention (after throwing his medal into the crowd and then the fan putting it on ebay its bidding is now at £10 illion, and i'v as he been told that Alan Shearer is the one bidding on it, which he obvisoly isn't its just a cruel joke) as he has now siad that he will rest Terry, Lampard and J.Cole for their final two games. Stuart Downing also wants to prove himself to Sven in the UEFA cup and Jol thinks that Lennon should go to the world cup with England.
May 1, 200619 yr I will mention Terry Butcher's comments today regarding Wayne Rooney. I have to agree with him - he thinks it will be detrimental to the England camp to take an injured player to the tournament. He made reference to 1982 when England took the injured pair of Trevor Brooking & Kevin Keegan and 1986 & 1990 when they took the injured Captain Marvel - Bryan Robson. While in 2002 England took a patently unfit David Beckham to the tournament. As he was a member of three World Cup squads 1982 to 1990 he said the media attention regarding the injured players race against time was unsettling for the squads morale & had a negative impact on the team's focus - although they did pretty good in those three Finals.
May 1, 200619 yr I should think Sven will get carried away and stick him on in a needless group game or something only to get him injured for even longer
May 1, 200619 yr We don't need Rooney in the Group stage.... Edited May 1, 200619 yr by Internet_King92
May 1, 200619 yr The two people that got the medals aren't selling them on eBay, they were in the paper today, was just a hoax.
May 1, 200619 yr It appears that Steve McLaren will be England's next manager... ....after Arsene Wenger turned down the job.
May 1, 200619 yr MARTIN O'NEIL OR ALAN CURBISHLEY PLEASE! Don't know why it's in capitals.... Felt like it I suppose -_-
May 1, 200619 yr Curbishley is the last person I want to be the manager. O'neil would be the preferable choice.
May 1, 200619 yr Yes I want O'Neill (with Stuart Pearce as #2) but the FA have probably turned him down as it would be Brian Clough running the England team (from beyond the grave).
May 1, 200619 yr I don't want Pearce to be the manager, he's too inexperianced to be the England manager IMO. Fat Sam would be my second choice then I don't have a clue.... Edited May 1, 200619 yr by Internet_King92
May 1, 200619 yr Sorry I missed out the word "his" between as and #2. Which is the ticket that Martin O'Neill suggested at his job interview.
May 4, 200619 yr England are better without Rooney His recent record playing for England was W 7 D 2 L 5 When he did not play the record was W7 D0 L1
