September 25, 200717 yr I doubt it. There's been rumours of her leaving for the past few years, one of which has ever come true.
September 25, 200717 yr Author Kate Richie Quits The Bay After twenty years playing one of the iconic characters of Australian television drama, Kate has decided to move on to new challenges. It is of course a sad day for both the makers and the fans of the show, but her departure will be handled with the sensitivity and respect it deserves. One of the reasons I came back to the show, that I could not talk about until now that the official statement of Kate's departure has been made, was to make sure that the story of Sally's departure is one befitting Kate's twenty years on the show and one that really delivers for the fans. It is a ten week arc story that starts with the last scene to air in Australia in 2007 and ends ten weeks in to the 2008 season. Kate will leave the show on an uplifting and positive note and the door will be kept open for her return should she ever choose to do so. There will be many dramatic and tension-filled twists and turns, and many tears of both joy and sorrow, along the way to her departure. Kate is a truly wonderful young woman and everyone at Seven wishes her well in both her personal life and her new career goals.[/b] gU_x70KZLLQ THE VIDEO INCLUDES SPOILERS I'm afraid it's true guys :(
September 25, 200717 yr Oh lord :( Good luck with whatever you do, Kate...and thanks for the 20 years in Home & Away.. ...You really are a legend!
September 26, 200717 yr I honestly didn't believe it, but wow. It's going to be odd really, she's really been the lead female for the past many years, who'll take that now?

I don't know, but they really need to give Leah a decent storyline. I can't remember the last time she had a storyline (minus that rather rubbish Alex and Drugs c**p)
September 26, 200717 yr I don't know, but they really need to give Leah a decent storyline. I can't remember the last time she had a storyline (minus that rather rubbish Alex and Drugs c**p) Well she had that rant against Jazz just recently (which was quite fun actually), so we'll see her again next year perhaps. Though when Sally leaves they might pay a bit more attention to her perhaps?
September 26, 200717 yr Author Yeah I hope so, Characters like Irene, Leah & Colleen are MASSIVLY underused. I'm getting a bit fed up with the teens (Cassie, Lucas, Ric etc) and think it's time for the oldies to take centre stage.

NOT devote time to the petty on/off relationships of Drew/Cassie/Lucas etc.? There are Home and Away scriptwriters having panic attacks as we speak.
September 27, 200717 yr Author What? NOT devote time to the petty on/off relationships of Drew/Cassie/Lucas etc.? There are Home and Away scriptwriters having panic attacks as we speak. Tis rather all annoying. They've all shagged each other! Matildas been with Ric/Lucas Ric has been with Matilda/Cassie/Belle Belle's been with Lucas/Ric/Drew Lucas has been with Belle/Matilda Cassie seems like the only one who hasnt sleep with one of her friends. Mind you, considering Macca and Her fling with Rachel's rapest Henk She really does have bad taste in men.

September 28, 200717 yr Cassie seems like the only one who hasnt sleep with one of her friends. Mind you, considering Macca and Not so, there was that long drawn-out on/off thing with Ric :( :o eek, Alf will be the longest survivor on the show, but I sense he might quit pretty soon, as he is getting on a bit. Same with Colleen, I can't see her lasting long, which would leave Irene and Leah as the only "long-term" characters. Home and Away are going to have to really start working on their cast retention if they want to avoid hiring a whole new cast every year. Edited September 28, 200717 yr by Shoat
September 28, 200717 yr Author Amanda returns to H&A screens in Aus at the end of October- It's not sure if she will be a guest or full time, Look's like it will be for a guest stint only
September 30, 200717 yr Tim Campbell who plays Dan and Rhys Wakefield who plays Luca have quit. Seriously? :o Not too bothered about Lucas; H&A has more than enough teens to cope. Disappointed about Dan, though can't blame him, he's been there 3 years and been completely underused despite being a better actor than most of the more prominent characters (*cough*Martha*cough*Jack*cough*Drew*). And that also means the only remaining married couple on the show will end up splitting up, though at least Leah will finally get a storyline. (EDIT) Just read a statement given out by one of the scriptwriters; Lucas leaves to go uni apparantly. And Dan and Leah apparantly DON'T split up, and the scriptwriter also said Dan will be given a BIG departure, which sounds to me like a bit of death coming up. Edited September 30, 200717 yr by Shoat
September 30, 200717 yr Author Oh no! Dan is so underused and Tim is such a great actor- Lucas, I'm not to fussed with- Rhys is just another actor who wants to break it in Hollywood and will properly fail misrably. Edited September 30, 200717 yr by Gãzzålíçìøù§
October 1, 200717 yr I don't know, I just never really saw the appeal, he looks awakward a tad geeky.
