October 3, 200717 yr to be honest, Ive never liked Lucas. I find him and his storylines really really annoying. Never been really keen on Dan either LOL Really bored with the stroylines at the moment Martha/Jack, Lucas/Horny teacher, Martha/The world ^_^ , but not doubt I will keep watching it
October 5, 200717 yr Today's episode on Five is pure good.. I  Leah! Edited October 5, 200717 yr by JDL
October 6, 200717 yr It was done quite well, although they still tried to make it all about Sally and Martha as usual.
October 6, 200717 yr Sally is the best character that programme has ever had and Martha is amazing LOL so I dont mind that at all :D
October 6, 200717 yr Author Martha is foul- Awful actress. Sally- Kate Richie is a great actress, but Sally is massively overused and characters such as Leah, Dan, Irene & Colleen fade in the background.
October 7, 200717 yr EWWW @ the thought of that annoying bint Colleen getting more storylines! :puke2:
October 7, 200717 yr Author EWWW @ the thought of that annoying bint Colleen getting more storylines! :puke2: Lesbian affair with Irene ! :puke:
October 9, 200717 yr Colleen is AWESOME, I like the way they've not tried to change her character in any way, she's probably the only character who has stayed consistent throughout.
November 8, 200717 yr It's been confirmed that Dan WILL die, but off-screen like Beth did earlier this year. Oh well, at least Leah will get maybe one or two scenes out of that before they switch back to Jack/Martha nonsense.
November 23, 200717 yr Author Actress Sharni Vinson is set to leave Home and Away screens in mid-2008 after meeting and falling for CSI: NY actor A.J. Buckley. She will make a move to the US where she already has "great contacts" says the Daily Telegraph. Vinson landed the role of Cassie after playing guest roles on the Seven soap.

If it wasn't for the fact that so many others are leaving next year this would be good news. But at this rate H&A will be down to just Jack and Martha angst every day. Wait, hold on a second....
February 8, 200817 yr Author Cassie has H.I.V, I've been watching Aus Pace episodes and she's caught it from Henk! Sharni Vinson portrayed the performance brilliantly- so sad!
February 9, 200817 yr I've just been watching them on YouTube aswell, and you're right. Sharni Vision has really pulled it out of the bag with this one. Of all the characters on the show I wouldn't have picked Cassie for such a powerful plot (there is also the added complication of her being pregnant aswell), but I might well have been wrong. There does seem to be a slight shift in the 2008 episodes (Aussie pace anyway). It's not a revamp on the scale of Neighbours or anything, but they've brought in some very subtle changes; more banter between the characters, more emotion/character-driven plots such as the Cassie HIV plot. Even the plots which would normally have just been an excuse for hammy will-they-survive drama is being explored in a bit more depth (Rev Hall). And also Morag's looking like she might be back for a while which is ALWAYS good. Other than seeing how the Cassie plot works out, I'm also looking forward to the episodes where news of Dan's death comes through; it will be interesing what they do with Leah after, hopefully this will be the end of her being used purely as a background character for Drew's various dramas.

I agree with you Shoat And apparently things get worse after Dan's death, and something happens to the Diner that Leah owns.. And I also agree with what you said about Cassie- I would NEVER have picked her for such an emotinal storyline but Sharni has really pulled it out of the bag- it's a shame that this is also her exit storyline- but at least shes' going with a bang

I wonder if they're setting Leah up to become the lead female after Sally leaves. Take her out of the Diner, have her become single again and open it up for relationship plots, become a single mother... It does sound like the writers are really trying to make up for the lack of attention they payed her and Dan in the past couple of years. Now they just need to do something similar for Irene.

Yes, I think your right. I read somewhere that that once the characters such as Cassie, Lucas, Drew and now Ric (Mark has quit) they are going to focus on the older generation. So let's hope Irene gets a storyline- I'm thinking she could be the one who is paired with Roman. There is chemistry there

Not only is he yet another departure (H&A's case is going to be ridiculously small soon), but he's a genuinely interesting character. Suppose it's not surprising though, Mark Furze has always been quite open about the fact that he wanted to do music full-time. It's quite worrying really. As I make it, there will only be five cast members who will have been there for more than the three years now Sally and Ric are leaving. The show really needs to work on hiring actors/developing characters who are going to stick around long-term. Otherwise they'll soon hit the situation of having an almost completely different cast from one year to the next.

But it's not all bad news Amanda is returning full time in February- I think she's fantastic and there's plenty of new cast coming into the show which I hope are good. But there going to have to bring more teens in- which is bad news- otherwise there will be noone at the school left!
