Rangers left it late to win in their champions league qualifer first leg winning 1-0 against Crvena Zvezda at Ibrox. Arsenal, Liverpool and Celtic all face away ties today kicking off throughout the day at 19:45, 15:30 and 17:00 respectivly, all will be looking to score some crusial away goals. Scottish Cup runners up Dumfermline have a home tie in the uefa cup first round qualifying, will they be looking to do well in europe to componsate relegation from SPL, or will they be looking to go straight back up? Blackburn are also in action in the uefa cup qualifying after sucseding in the Intertoto cup, away at MyPa they kick off at 15:55, Dumfermline kick off at 19:45. Spurs, some said they would crack the top 4 this season, but after 2 games they prop up the table losing away to Sunderland (1-0) and at home to Everton on Tuesday (1-3). Birmingham V Sunderland Sunderland the only promoted team to win over the weekend face a trip Birmingham on wednesday night, who lost 3-2 to chelsea on sunday. Sunderland have had the best start to a league campaign since 2001/2002, will it continue against Birmingham a team they have not won against in the previous 2 seasons. Will Birmingham get revenge on the Black Cats who pipped them to the Championship title on the final day of last season. Fulham V Bolton Fulham and Bolton both changed managers at the end of last season, both lost at the weekend. Both will be looking to kick start their seasons, Fulham hope to avoid another relegation fight, Bolton will want another year in europe next season. Man City V Derby A new look Man City easily beat West Ham at the weekend, they will be hoping to have a better time at home this season, after scoring just 10 home goals last season, a new low for a top flight team. Derby, promoted via the playoffs and many peoples tips to go down will be looking to continue their good start to the season after drawing with Portsmouth on Saturday. Porstmouth V Man Utd Portsmouth will be hoping they will continue to prove a tricky team for Man Utd to beat at home. Utd will be hoping for a win after being held to draw by reading on Sunday. Utd will be looking to close the gap on the other 3 of last years top 4, all of whom won at the weekend. Reading V Chelsea Last season this hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Chelsea losing 2 goal keepers to head injurys within the same match. Chelsea will be hoping for revenge on Reading. Reading handled Man Utd well on Sunday, and will be hoping they can cause another upset tonight. Wigan V Middlesbrough Both teams lost 2-1 on Saturday and both will be looking for 3 points to get the season going. Wigan will want the 3 points to avoid a last day showdown last year where they survined on goal diffrence. Boro will be looking for the points to propell them selves up the table, the Uefa Cup finalists of a few seasons ago will be looking to show they can get there again. Because of Arsenal, Liverpool and Blackburn being in europeian action, west ham, Aston Villa and Newcastle don't play in midweek. So what do people think will happen. Manchester Utd have yet to win a match and are allready 4 points behind Chelsea if they win tonight. Man City are also 4 points clear of their local rivals.
