Posted May 2, 200619 yr Mandy Moore offers fans their money back Tuesday, May 2 2006, 08:07 BST - by Susanna Regan Mandy Moore claims she is happy to refund any fan who bought her first album, which she recorded when she was just 14 years old. The singer and American Dreamz actress, 22, told a KROQ radio interviewer that her album So Real "sucked". A worker at the station claimed to have bought the album used for $8 and Moore honoured her promise by getting her manager to send a letter with the man's $8 back
May 2, 200619 yr Author :o :o :o that's pathetic  why would she do that? I would expect thats shes very embarrased as she probably thinks of herself in the singer/songwriter tradion rather than a britney-a-like? have a look at her influences on coverage album
May 2, 200619 yr I would expect thats shes very embarrased as she probably thinks of herself in the singer/songwriter tradion rather than a britney-a-like? have a look at her influences on coverage album I guess ... But every singer has to start from somewhere! and OK, her 1st album was kinda cheesy, but it's hers and she is just being pathetic and drawing attention to the fact that the album is actually c**p! (or maybe that's what she wants, so people go out and buy it? )
May 2, 200619 yr Author I wonder if it be extended to some of her early films? (cant comment on american dreamz not seen it yet)

May 3, 200619 yr I have Coverage but not the first album, it's not that uncommon for an artist to say their earlier work wasn't up to scratch, a la Kelly Osbourne. ;)

May 3, 200619 yr I'm waiting for Pantera and Red Hot Chili Peppers to do a similar thing with their godawful debut albums.....

May 5, 200619 yr Christina Aguilera and Pink both disowned their first albums. And then made drastic changes to their sound. Other pop divas have taken longer to get less far away from their manufactured beginnings. I think Mandy Moore is joking - to be honest, I doubt she has the money to give refunds to everyone. 'Coverage' is amazing and 'Mandy Moore' is a great POP record too. Long live Moore! Edited May 5, 200619 yr by Tim
May 5, 200619 yr This is either an incredibly stupid PR move or an incredible insult by Mandy to her early fans -_-
May 6, 200619 yr This is either an incredibly stupid PR move or an incredible insult by Mandy to her early fans -_- yeah it is a bit of an insult to the people who bought/liked it isn't it :P I've got one song of hers which I really like - I wanna be with you - but I have no idea which album it came from or about anything else she has done - just came to me via a friend. I really like her voice and that song, but I've just never got around to seeing if I like anything else she's done. Edited May 6, 200619 yr by Secret_Song
May 6, 200619 yr This is an incredible insult by Mandy to her early fans -_- Her early fans will be six years older and all indie now so I don't think that will be a problem
