Posted May 2, 200620 yr Credit: Music Week Gnarls Barkley are facing a fight with fellow Warner Bros signings Red Hot Chili Peppers to spend a sixth consecutive week at number one on the UK singles chart with Crazy. Retail reports suggest Crazy currently has a comfortable lead over the Chili Peppers' Dani California, which is expected to make a sizeable move from its debut position of 12 last week into the Top 10 following its release on Monday as a physical single. If Crazy stays at number one it will be the longest run at the top by a US act on the chart since another Warner release, Cher's Believe, spent seven weeks at number one in 1998. Breatfreakz' Data-issued reworking of the Rockwell hit Somebody's Watching Me is predicted to make a similar leap to the Red Hot Chili Peppers into the Top 10, having entered the chart at 21 on Sunday on digital-only sales. It is likely to be joined in the Top 10 by Echo band Feeder whose Lost & Found charted outside the Top 75 at the weekend on download sales but is now available as a physical release, too. Other releases set to move into the Top 40 this week following the availability of a physical format include Atlantic's Panic At The Disco with But It's Better If You Do and Virgin's We Are Scientists with Nobody Move Nobody Get Hurt. Sony BMG's latest Michael Jackson re-issue, Remember The Time, will be among the chart's new entries this Sunday, as will Mute/EMI's Goldfrapp with Fly Me Away. Although their single You're All I Have is likely to fall on the singles chart, Polydor's Snow Patrol are expected to achieve their first ever number one album this Sunday with Eyes Open. The follow-up to Final Straw, which reached number three on its way to selling 1.3m copies in the UK, is on course to be joined in the Top 10 by entries from two Columbia Label Group acts, Tool and Pearl Jam. =============================================================== Summary Watch the No.1. May 2, 200620 yr Black Eyed Peas were actually the last American act to have 6 weeks not Cher... Great for Beatfreakz but I take it Laura Michelle Kelly and Big Brovaz have missed the top 40...
