Posted May 3, 200619 yr Oasis genius Noel Gallagher has confessed that the young age of Arctic Monkeys puts him off a little. Speaking about the band's frontman Alex Turner, he said: “I like him, I do, and he is definitely a bit of a genius lyricist, but he is still a kid. “He was eight when ‘Definitely Maybe’ came out. What the **** am I, a 38-year-old supposed to say to that? They make me feel awkward.†Speaking about his own band [Oasis] Gallagher mentioned that his band were no longer as big as they once were: “What bothers me right now is that we are not the biggest band in the world any more. “U2, The Stones even Coldplay are bigger than us.†After doing research, we would like to remind everybody that Noel Gallagher is 38-years old, not Liam Gallagher. May 17, 200619 yr Author Here's more: Recent reports suggested Noel Gallagher felt 'awkward' about the Arctic Monkeys but now he's once again hailed them as the saviours of youth culture. Speaking to the Daily Star, Noel said: "They’re an amazing band and they’re northerners, like us. I look at these and I know they’re not going to piss it away, because they’re solid, they love each other, those four. And us northerners don’t **** it up. I stood out in the front in Brixton with all the sweaty people and there’s only two bands I’ve done that for. "I saw The Libertines at The Forum and they had something for a while, but they ****ed it up. "But watching that, they’re the only two things that I’ve seen since Oasis that had what we had and The Libertines lost it." And to those reports making him sound like an old man, he responded: "They have proved to me that youth culture is alive. "If that’s the music that the kids are making then I’m happy for the kids. And I’m even happier because I didn’t feel old at their gig." So true about the Libs
