Posted August 31, 200717 yr This year in particular, it seems alot of big releases have been left until the last quarter of the year. With new albums and singles due from Kylie, Madonna, Britney, Mariah Carey, Sugababes, Spice Girls, Girls Aloud, Dido and Robbie Williams, who do you think will be the winners and losers? I hope Kylie does well...I think the sugababes new single will do very well along with Girls Aloud. Not sure how well Robbie Williams will do after his last album which was a relative flop for him. Also, unsure at the moment about Dido and the Spice Girls.
August 31, 200717 yr The only act that you mentioned above that I hope flops big time is Britney Spears. I hope Kylie is massive
August 31, 200717 yr I hope Kylie walks to No.1, she's been away far too long!! Wishing her a full recovery.
August 31, 200717 yr I didn't know Robbie was releasing an album this year. Is it a swing one? Leona Lewis and Shayne Ward also have albums out and it will be interesting to see how well those do. There's also McFly, Jennifer Lopez, Stereophonics, Nelly, Duran Duran, Backstreet Boys, Alicia Keys, Nicole Scherzinger and Usher
August 31, 200717 yr Robbie Williams is the only one likely to lose out from that lot - although Dido will do better in the album chart than the singles chart. I think we're going to have a lot of brief number ones as they all jockey for position. Missing from this list are Westlife, Celine Dion, Black Eyed Peas, David Gray, Doves, Paolo Nutini, Usher, Russell Watson, Led Zeppelin and Radiohead - all of whom will have an impact on the albums or singles chart.
August 31, 200717 yr Kylie is going to be huge, probably the most likely to have a million-selling album. Dido may well do so too though, Britney will have lots of success (at least initially) and Madonna will be big (but not as big as she was during the Confessions era).
August 31, 200717 yr The last two Westlife singles were comparative low-performers, so I wouldn't be suprised if the album undersells.
August 31, 200717 yr I cant wait for all of them  Britney/Mariah/Madonna/Sugababes/Kylie especially. Its gonna be a great for music in the next few months :w00t:
August 31, 200717 yr Wow, didn't realise that there was going to be so many big releases this year! I expect Kylie, Dido, BEP, Sugababes to be huge albums
August 31, 200717 yr Don't forget Westlife.... Another lot I hope flop big time :puke2: :puke2: Same with Mc$h!te, Nelly, Usher & Shayne Ward :puke2: Alicia Keys & Leona :cheer: Edited August 31, 200717 yr by Euro Music
August 31, 200717 yr Cant wait for the following albums.. Sugababes, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Girls Aloud, Leona, Madonna, Mariah, Kylie, Spice Girls.. So MANY big albums on there way :o
August 31, 200717 yr Author I'm really looking forward to releases by Kylie, Sugababes, Madonna, Girls Aloud, Celine Dion & Britney. James Blunt also has a new album out which may do well along with Katie Melua. Kylie - should do well...expect massive promotion and good sales upto christmas. Madonna - will sell ok but not as big in comparison to the confessions era. Sugababes - cracking new single and album will perform well. Girls Aloud - great new single and prospects for album are good. Celine - may underperform. depends on the new single and promotion it receives. Delta Goodrem - may under perform. Britney - could do well but depends on success of the single.
August 31, 200717 yr the way i see it, its all about the solo female acts, hugeness i am expecting to see kylie (singles and album) she has huge public support and the media's favourite, madonna (singles and album but not as good as COAD) and dido (album wise) all solid sellers here. worldwide dido, mariah & madonna. britney i'm not sure about it could be eratic. she may do really well and be HUGE worldwide at first thanks to her lead single but may under perform long term cause her private life may affect sales. the kids custody battle right bang in her comeback is bad timing!! the media will play favourites with all this female competition and she is an easy target. however britney has set the pace with a strong single and deserves to do well, the other solo singers will have to step it up to match her and beat her, its definately an exciting period coming up to hear all the lead singles from all the acts coming back.

Also, unsure at the moment about Dido and the Spice Girls. Kylie - MASSIVE. Pretty obvious she will be. Madona - EUGH. I mean, Timbaland? Sorry but who's going to buy it if all her songs have turned Timbaland-esque, I know that no one in my school will buy it, no matter how 'hip' it will be. Britney - Her albums arn't always Big BIG sellers in the UK, but her singles are going to be MASSIVE. I wouldnt be surprised if Gimme More sells more then Umbrella/Grace Kelly. Mariah Carey - Hmm... I'm looking forward to this but I don't know how this will go, it's released in the same week as Madonna's, so it's pretty obvious and sad really that Madonna will outshine Mariah, I know what album I'll be getting though. -_- Sugababes - They'll do good, although not sure how they'll recover after Walk This Way. -_- Spice Girls - Will be the biggest seller of the year no doubt. Girls Aloud - The album won't do well I don't think, I've gone off the single a bit to. The more they go on, the worst their music gets I think. :( Wouldn't be surprised if they tried for Christmas #1 this year. -_- Dido - BAH. Prepare yourselves for the Coma that has legs. Dire artist but because Europe is just.. SO BORING she'll be massive. Robbie Williams - I think it's going to be a Swing album. I think his last one has sold over 2 Million (and Rudebox was hardly a flop, it got to #1 but was wrecked by the media and those who havn't even listened to the album <_< ) but if it all goes ok, I can see it selling a million easy. There. So what I think: BIG: #1 Spice Girls (Biggest Sellers no doubt) #2 Dido (Hate to say it but, eugh) #3 Robbie (As long as everything goes right and he behaves. ) #4 Britney (She'll sell massive amounts single wise, who knows about the album)
August 31, 200717 yr Enya's Christmas album should go top ten, not sure how long it'll stick around though tbh.
August 31, 200717 yr To be honest im pretty scared about Kylie comeback. Everyone thinks its going to be huge but what if it isnt. Everyone thought after fever her next album would be huge and it really wasnt even close to what people were expecting
August 31, 200717 yr To be honest im pretty scared about Kylie comeback. Everyone thinks its going to be huge but what if it isnt. Everyone thought after fever her next album would be huge and it really wasnt even close to what people were expecting If she uses the right lead single, it will do fine. But if she f***s up like last time, and releases something as $h!tE as "Slow" it wont do that well. I'm still confused as to why, "Slow" lead Body Language -_-. Worst Lead Single ever much?
