Apparently, Simon Fuller has approached George Michael to write a Christmas single for the Spice Girls....fair enough but apparently he intends it to go head-to-head with the X Factor winner!! Why?!!

Everybody knows that the unfortunate truth is that there is no stopping the X Factor winner from getting number one. The Spice Girls simply couldn't sell 750 thousand singles in one week, especially with a Greatest Hits already out. They should release the week before Christmas to get their number one!

Peter30, I'm sure they will be able to get the xmas number one.

There the spice girls for gods sake :magic:

If spice girls do release and get beat by an x-factor winner its just ridiculous. I hope whoever wins doesnt get to number 1 even if the spice girls don't release a xmas single

I wholeheartidly agree. As much as I like watching the x-factor, its getting ridicolous that the song gets to xmas number one EVERY year. Maybe they should change the date for the week after or summit.

Ye, i mean don't get me wrong i love the X-factor, and have been drawn in twice by buying Shayne and Leonas debut singles. In fairness though i thought they both had brilliant voices, especially Leona and i don't think they are going to find that this year, i can see another 'Steve Brookstein' happening. I really intend on not buying the winners single no matter how much i like the person, (unless mabye its a new girl band, haha).
The Spice Girls won't get xmas number one, they won't even manage 500k sales when their first single is released in October, to expect them to do it with their second (and with the album out) is ridiculous...
I wudn't be too suprised if they reached 500k, but being more realistic i would guess 350 - 400k

Look at what Take That sold, I really don't think they'll sell much more than that. Sales are low for everyone nowadays.

People seem to be living in a dreamworld at the moment with The Spice Girls.

I seriously doubt they will be able to compete with the X-Factor Winner, i was they could but i dont think its gonna happen.

The Spice Girls have had their time, name me another Girl Band that has one of the Biggest Selling Debuts of all time, with over 23 Million WW.

Name me another Girl Band, that sold 7 Million Copies of their second album in a week

The Spice Girls have had the glory, the comeback isnt going to be THAT successful...

Neither could Leona :funky:

Well I'm so looking forward to the new version of this:

Spice Girls - W.O.M.A.N. (1999 Live version)

If that's even true....OK it's a widely circulated rumour but it's never been OFFICIALLY confirmed.

I would prefer a totally new track, also there are MUCH better songs on Forever that have never been released rather than Woman. but i'm happy no matter what at least there back (for a bit)
