September 4, 200717 yr Many singers/bands have had flop comebacks this year after being successful before. Natasha Bedingfield & KT Tunstall's comebacks have been rather half-hearted, and then of course there's Kelly Clarkson who's comeback has been rather dire aswell. And then there's the good comebacks from the likes of Britney Spears who's comeback single looks like being a major hit, Avril Lavigne has had a brilliant comeback, Rihanna has also been massive this year. How can you judge KT Tunstall's when her album hasn't been released yet, or is it out this week?
September 4, 200717 yr Rihanna - THE BEST She never went anywhere to make it a "comeback". She had 2 major hits last years. Plus her previous single, before Umbrella, was only released in the USA in February! :)
September 4, 200717 yr Oh, to add to my best: Namie Amuro: PLAY BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR!! :w00t: :w00t:
September 4, 200717 yr I don't think a flop means the album is bad but tbh My December is a pile of w*** and that's MY opinion. I was really looking forward to her comeback but it was so disappointing. Natasha Beddingfield is another one. As for good comebacks the Sugababes new album sounds promising and Avril's was also fab and probably a few others as well I could throw in. I suspect Kylie's will be great. <3
September 4, 200717 yr Best comeback: Britney Spears - flawless Worst comeback: Kelly Osbourne/Rowland - okay songs, but weak compared to their previous stuff!
September 5, 200717 yr Best: Rihanna, Britney Worst: Eve, Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland (the wrong songs were chosen for first singles :()
September 5, 200717 yr I find it a bit weird people can say Britney has had the best comeback when her new single has barely been out a week :/ The album could be terrible for all we know. Looking at sales it has got to be Kelly and Natasha for worst comeback. Both utterly terrible when you look at how the previous albums did, both badly handled too. Best in terms of sales would have to be (In the UK) Kaiser Chiefs, ugh. Worldwide Linkin Park (ugh again) and Avril. I would have included Rihanna but I really don't count her new album as a comeback. 'Break It Off' was at american radio just one month prior to 'Umbrella'. Just because she had new material doesn't make it a comeback. It's not like she has been away for years. :/ When it comes to quality, the worst comebacks so far are Maroon 5, Fall Out Boy and Kelly Clarkson. The previous albums by these artists were poor, but I am not going to lie and just leave it there. They did actually have some quality songs, 'Since U Been Gone', 'This Love' and 'Sugar, We're Going Down' were all catchy pop songs, they deserved to be the hits they became etc. Maybe my music taste has moved along since then or they have just come back with the same c**p, just worse. Well, atleast Kelly tried and did actually have some artistic integrity. The other two... nah, just terrible attempts at trying to be as mainstream as possible. The best in terms of quality... Feist easily, followed by Stars, Rilo Kiley and M.I.A. (a few others I am sure too). They have not been tainted by sales and mainstream success. They have all come back with critical success and albums that they should be proud of. B)
September 5, 200717 yr She never went anywhere to make it a "comeback". She had 2 major hits last years. Same thing happened with McS**t, JK and Joel said that All ABout You was their 'comeback' single even thought they released a single in december 2004, r*t****... Anyway, best comebacks this year for me are Sugababes (so far....) Mark Ronson, Hard-Fi and Sophie Ellis-Bextor (just a shame she flopped a bit). Easily, the worst (and most pointless) of comebacks this year so far are 50 Cent (why, the charts were are a better place without his **** music), Kelly Rowland, Enrique Iglesias and (sorry!!!!) Avril Lavigne. I could probably think of more but i cant remember march let alone the past 9 months  oh yeah, how could i forget the awful Fall Out Boy, (Pondlife will be joining very very soon aswell) Edited September 5, 200717 yr by 1Dave2006
September 5, 200717 yr Best comeback single: TLC - No Scrubs These ladies were away for FIVE years and released this song in 1999 and shut it down. Their album sold millions off the back of this song (and the second single, but moreso "No Scrubs").

September 5, 200717 yr I know, I know. I just realised I f*cked up, Slick. I don't think there have been ANY "comebacks" this year. I think your lots definition of a comeback is different to mine ...
September 5, 200717 yr Best comeback albums: Natasha Bedingfield, Missy Higgins, Sophie Ellis-Bextor Worst comeback albums: Kelly Clarkson (great album but not in the same league as Breakaway), but the worst comeback has to go to Lucie Silvas :(
September 5, 200717 yr Sophie Ellis Bextor came back with great album... Shame she flopped... Avril came back with $h!t, so did Kelly C (not that big $h!t after all, Irvine, Sober, Hole and Chivas saved the album from being a complete disaster). Gimme More is beyond boredom... As of KT Tunstall, she's great and so is Hold On. I'm a bit disappointed by Hard-Fi...

Avril came back with $h!t, so did Kelly C (not that big $h!t after all, Irvine, Sober, Hole and Chivas saved the album from being a complete disaster). I agree...although My December is weak in comparison to Breakaway there are still 4 or 5 GREAT tracks on it, Sober, How I Feel, Be Still and Irvine coming to mind
September 6, 200717 yr The best in terms of quality... Feist easily, followed by Stars, Rilo Kiley and M.I.A. (a few others I am sure too). I totally agree about Feist. "The Reminder" is very good but unfortunatelly she's very... ignored. Also I can add Garbage with their greatest hits Absolute Garbage as amazing in terms of quality, but it started very well then fell like a brick from charts quickly... (even it's a rock band they still have some pop elements on their songs) "Trip the Light Fantastic" by Sophie Ellis-Bextor was a half-flop in terms of commercial success even it's very good as quality. Another great comebacks: Kosheen with "Damage" (but this is drum & bass and electronica), Dolores O'Riordan with "Ordinary Day" (pop-rock), Groove Armada with Soundboy Rock (electronica). Worst comeback? Clarkson, Bedingfield and a lot more. Anyway I never cared about their music... :D Edited September 6, 200717 yr by Alin
September 6, 200717 yr Best - Britney - Gimme More Girls Aloud - Sexy! No No No... Kelly Clarkson - My December Worst - Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing
