I have a question that i'm not really sure where to put, but since it's a random topic, I'll ask it here. I was watching Conan O'Brien show and it had U2 on, and at one point Conan called Bono one of the biggest stars in the world (which he no doubt is), and asked how his life in Ireland was coz he(Conan) thought that Irish don't like celebrities who get too famous, to which Bono replied that he loves Ireland, that it's a great country to bring kids up, and then he went on to say that there is a difference between how Irish and Americans perceive rich and famous: " An american sees a big house on a hill and says one day i'll live at that house. An irishman sees the same house and says one day i'll get that bast*rd"- which is very similar to what Robbie says in Feel about English and Americans. So my question is this: does anybody know who actually said it first Robbie or Bono? Or is this just a well known saying for the british people and are used often?

(Sorry for a long post, it took forever to explain the situation)

I have know idea who said that first but I can imagine that it's just a well known saying....

I remember that my Dublin friend once told me a story about that big (up the hill) house in (or near) Dublin that Bono wanted to buy but that wasn't for sale....he then send the person who lived there a blank(?) check but he got it back!!!
