And yeah, I do agree that it is quite stupid from the record companies to delay the download release dates to get more album sales. I mean this same thinking led in the US to the demise of the cd single and the

creation of the booming download business for the first Napster etc. with no money for recors companies. And now it seems that they are going to be making the same mistake again if they continue with this path...

REALLY stupid. Rihanna and Shakira have certainly racked up hundreds of thousands of illegal downloads over the past several weeks, many of which would have been bought legally if possible. They're really the most popular two songs in the country now and once again the stupid record companies are cheating the system for short-term gain. Apparently Steve Jobs is livid. Record companies are desperately trying to get him to raise the price from $.99 too. They want $2 downloads. Ridiculous.

By the way, it's really amazing that Rihanna is #1 in the Hot 100 but get this. She's also #1 on the Pop 100, the Hot Digital Songs Chart, the Hot Dance Club Play Chart, the Billboard Monitor and the Radio & Records/Mediabase airplay chart.

According to her web site:

"S.O.S. is a worldwide phenomenon that has gone #1 on the Canadian Airplay chart, the Japanese International chart, the Australian singles chart, the French airplay chart and European airplay chart."

Shame she barely missed #1 in the UK! Anyway, when is the last time a single song topped so many charts worldwide??

I am SO excited for her!!!!
