Posted September 6, 200717 yr Out monday, anyone heard it yet I've listened to it a couple of times and it sounds really GREAT, one of this years good comebacks by the sound of it I've heard Little Favours and Paper Aeroplane before as they are on an old acoustic KT album I have called 'Tracks In July' from 2000...but these two tracks in particular have been given more oomph and I'm glad she's redone them... Unlike Kate Nash whose overproduced version of Birds on her album completely ruined the song...
September 6, 200717 yr I really like the album! i think its alot better overall than her debut. My fave tracks are "Little Favours" "If Only" "Funnyman" "Hopeless" and "Someday Soon" "Hold On" is probably my least favourite from the album.
September 8, 200717 yr If "Hold On" is the worst on the album, the album must be AMAZING. Can't wait to hear it, although tbh...I wasn't a fan of her last album. Does she have any songs on the new album up to the standard of the ignored, but yet, IMO, modern-day classic which is "Otherside Of The World"?
September 8, 200717 yr Sounds like a good album, but i worry people will be hesitant to buy it because Hold On wasnt a big hit, nor is it very good.
September 8, 200717 yr 'Hold On' is beyond awful I think, I hope to god there's better on this new album. :( 'Other Side Of The World' and 'Another Place To Fall' were amazing.
September 9, 200717 yr QUOTE(Dan. @ Sep 9 2007, 08:03 AM) Don't forget Suddenly I See Grossly overrated. Suddenly I See, Under The Weather & Other Side Of The World
September 9, 200717 yr 'Hold On' is beyond awful I think, I hope to god there's better on this new album. :( its getting average to good reviews in the press most places. however the IoS slagged it off totally said her soft-rock was "the satantic spawn of annie lennox and dido", they type of records that "sell by the tesco truckload to women who need a soundtrack to their unsatisfactory relationships" still going on about her 'auto-pilot radio-friendly soft rock' in the Animal Collective review (pages 62 and 63 IoS Today)
September 10, 200717 yr Author That's a very harsh review I still think Other side of the world is her finest moment, other Eye to the telescope highlights for me were Heal Over, Suddenly I See and Black Horse though the whole album was brilliant There are 4 instant standout tracks on Drastic Fantastic, Hopeless, If Only, Little Favours and Paper Aeroplane. The DVD which comes with the deluxe edition is quite funny and the sleeve is brilliant-its done in a comic strip way
September 10, 200717 yr I like pretty much Hold On (esp. its funny music video). I'm the only one? ;)
September 10, 200717 yr I liked the video to 'Hold On'. I heard it in HMV earlier and argh, it's that god damn chrous. It makes me want to break something. :banghead:
September 13, 200717 yr Author Beuaty Of Uncertainty is a gorgeous track, especially when the strings kick in This album has an immensely high quality in my opinion
September 15, 200717 yr its getting average to good reviews in the press most places. however the IoS slagged it off totally said her soft-rock was "the satantic spawn of annie lennox and dido", they type of records that "sell by the tesco truckload to women who need a soundtrack to their unsatisfactory relationships" still going on about her 'auto-pilot radio-friendly soft rock' in the Animal Collective review (pages 62 and 63 IoS Today) I can understand this. Her music is so purpose-built sofor the supermarket shopper who takes a casual interest in music and doesn't have the time to discover what great musis is. She does have some good moments, but her first album falled into thhat category all too often...
