Posted September 8, 200717 yr Yeah if you havent heard her tour has been set back to jan/feb 08 because shes doing a 34 date - YES 34!! with Take that as SPECIAL GUEST where she will perform a live set of her hits and more... So this means Manchester and Shephards bush gig has been poseponed for a while. I can see many dissapointed fans although they will get to go in a couple of months - so they will just have to wait it will be great exposure to her and shes said the tour will be next year which would suggest the odd rumour on here of her being dropped isnt true - certainly not any time soon anyway.. GO SOPHIE Dates are as follows.... September 8, 200717 yr OMG!!!!! You scared me then  This doesnt mean that the Warwick gig will be poseponed would it??? Great for Sophie :o May increase album sales :D
September 8, 200717 yr Author I think EVERYTHING has been prosponed - the dates I posted are the NEW dates of everything she has coming up
September 8, 200717 yr I don't mind as such, if it helps her get more exposure then that's a great thing! I'll be purchasing my ticket for Shepherd's Bush this evening. :D
September 8, 200717 yr I'm off to see Take That anyway in Belfast and Manchester so this is a little bonus for me! I like her stuff! Kath
September 8, 200717 yr how stupid can people be (last.fm people). It hasn't been CANCELLED, it's been POSTPONED. -_-
September 8, 200717 yr Author Aly why are you purchasing your Shephards Bush ticket? its been postponed i wouldnt buy it until sophie confirms the new date
September 8, 200717 yr oooh this could really help her career, by touring with an act as big as Take That a ton of people will get to hear her music! It worked for Pink in the US, nobody wanted to be bothered with her, then she toured with JT and people fell in love with her again. The same could happen to Sophie hopefully!
September 8, 200717 yr Author yeah the amount of people who will see her will be thousands and I love take that and im a sophie fan - so the 2 go well together!
September 9, 200717 yr I actually think this sucks hard  I mean.. none of the dates even conflict with the new ones, so why cancel them until NEXT YEAR?! I'm so disappointed, I really have been looking forward to this for months now, and we get let down a week before. I know the decision probably wasn't taken lightlty, but still... and I guess it should do well for her. She also said something on her official site like "my tour will be back in the new year, bigger and better" so maybe if this support slot does well and the album starts selling more than 10 copies a week then she could do a tour where she actually visits places all over the UK (Birmingham, hopefully) and then I won't have to travel to Manchester.
September 9, 200717 yr Hopefully they'll add some deacent dates to the 08 tour for her now ... the original dates were so random, it's not surprising they weren't selling incredibly. It's not the music that stop people going to see her ... she just needs to be far more accessible.

I've been saying this for so long now, they all just seemed randomly staggered throughout the country.
September 9, 200717 yr Author Hmmm but apparently the tour wasnt selling amazingly well and shes what half way through the tour ? so seems a bit silly to add loads more? I dont knowwwwwww lol
September 9, 200717 yr So is Warwick gig poseponed aswell? :o Would we get a letter or something to tell us?
September 9, 200717 yr this is what The Sage website says: Unfortunately, this UK tour has had to be postponed. Alternative dates are being arranged with the tour manager. Tickets from 5th October date here at The Sage Gateshead will be valid for the new date. We will write to all current ticket holders confirming details of the new date as soon as possible. A great singer, diva and dance-floor filler, Sophie Ellis-Bextor has had several incarnations. She started as a sharp-suited indie girl with theaudience, then took Ibiza – and dance-floors to this day – by storm as the vocalist on Groovejet (If this ain’t love?), and then became a queen of pop with solo hits like Take Me Home and Murder on the Dance Floor. After taking some time out to have baby Sonny, she’s back with new album ‘Trip the Light Fantastic’, which has already had hit singles, and is a dance/disco/pop extravaganza, which the Guardian has described as reaching “ecstatic heights... another perfect balancing of aloofness and hedonism”. Watch this space for confirmation of the new date!
