I think I like all of Darren Hayes' singles tbh. He did really well in 2002, but radio has changed since and its harder for pop songs to crack the chart nowadays.

it's unfair really how badly his solo career has done, he doesn't deserve it...I don't recall any of his solo singles in 2002/2003 other than Insatiable getting much airplay though...

he has quite a large fanbase but can't seem to crossover to the casual music buyer no matter how good his songs are

All of the singles from Spin made the top20, and they got airplay on Radio 2. The album made #2 which is pretty impressive. But yeah, its been a freefall since then

I remember his album getting to No.2, as it was a midweek No.1 which I was disappointed to see fall

it was quite a big seller was it not!?! I'm sure it sold at least 400k

Dunno its sales but it stuck around for a while. His singles were all great, Strange Relationship, Crush, I Miss You, etc. Incredible and catchy pop songs. 2002 seems like yesterday but its all changed so much :o

Crush was great, as was Strange Relationship...Insatiable is a song that I thought would go on to become a classic, but it's been forgotten by a lot of people now...

I still hear Truly Madly Deeply at least 2 or 3 times a week though, and I Knew I Loved You/To The Moon & Back/Affirmation quite regularly too

I quite liked SG too. Crash & Burn, Affirmation and To The Moon & Back are my favs. They were huge in the US too. Insatiable managed to be a decent hit for him over there too

we should just take a look at Sweden, they still have catchy stuff in their charts. Looking at their latest I-Tunes chart:

1. In the Heat of the Night

Star Pilots

2. I'm Yours

Jason Mraz

3. Mercy

Duffy

4. Ella Elle l'a

Kate Ryan

5. Hold On Be Strong

Maria Haukaas Storeng

6. Can You Hear Me

Enrique Iglesias

7. Sverige, det bästa på vår jord

Markoolio

8. 4 Minutes

Madonna

9. Longing for Lullabies (With Titiyo)

Kleerup

10. Just Dance

Lady GaGa & Colby O'Donis

Plenty of great stuff here. Star Pilots are dance-pop kinda like Alcazar, Jason Mraz has a very catchy organic pop song, Kate Ryan has an amazing eurotrance song, Enrique is back with his new single and its quite good, Kleerup make some amazing chillout dance tunes, and Lady GaGa has one of the best electropop songs of the year!

very nice, the best song there being Maria Haukaas Storeng  how did she make the top 10 there! If I was to move to another country, based entirely on their music scene, Sweden would be it

I wasn't so keen on Crash & Burn...god they must have released almost every track on the Affirmation album, I can remember at least 6 singles from it

Crash & Burn

The Best Thing

Hold Me

Affirmation

I Knew I Loved You

The Animal Song

were there any more!?!

Dont think so, although I must say I don't remember The Best Thing being a single :o

Crash & Burn has just some really touching lyrics, and its quite a sad song, but ultimately hopeful too.

Might as well put the topic to use :P

it definitely was, because I have it on single  I think it got to 30 something in the UK

I also have To The Moon & Back on single, but that's it for my Savage Garden collection

as for Darren, I have Popular and So Beautiful on single

TMD is a timeless classic

as much as I love Cascada usually, their dance version of it was shockingly bad

although I did love their ballad cover of it

Everytime We Touch, Miracle and What Hurts The Most are all equally great

all of their other singles range from good to average

they've really missed the trick with some of their album tracks...Bad Boy, How Do You Do, Perfect Day and Runaway could all have been massive

Yeah those are my 3 favourites too. Neverending Dream and What Do You Want From Me are especially c**p, there's definitely better on the albums.

both completely useless singles...

Because The Night is very good but so unoriginal...if Jan Wayne hadn't already done it almost exactly the same way, I reckon it would be one of my favourite dance covers
