some of those songs in your UK flops post I love...4 of them made my personal chart top 10:

Paulina Rubio: #6

ATB: #3

No Angels: #2

French Affair: #2

and despite ATC's Around The World being a (massive) No.1 in my chart, they remained a one hit wonder and never charted again because I was insulted by the fact that My Heart Beats Like A Drum was almost identical...

Yeah very similar, but big success, their 2nd #1 hit in Germany. Was it Daddy DJ or DJ Encore that was desqualified from charting in the UK? It was heading for a top20 debut.

don't recall hearing about Daddy DJ and it wasn't ever promoted here

DJ Encore however, I was surprised that it was a flop, another top 10 hit in my chart so that was probably the one that was disqualified

Both used to be on the release schedule I remember. Surprised Daddy DJ wasnt released, peaked at #2 in Europe.

I've never listened to the Daddy DJ song until today...I had heard about it though. It's not that great in my opinion

That Tymes 4 song was a huge flop :o

Tymes 4 actually reminded me of this absolute gem for some reason (another relative flop)

and more pop garage (and the finest of the genre in my opinion, and yet another song that missed the UK top 10)

All of the best garage seemed to go unnoticed in the UK while So Solid were clogging up the top end of the chart

funnily enough, both acts came to perform at my school (on separate occasions)!

So Solid did just before they'd released 21 Seconds in about June 2001 so they weren't quite as controversial at that point in time

Oxide & Neutrino came just before No Good 4 Me was released in December 2000 and were pretty good live actually

the only other band that came to my school were...Scooch!

lol, lucky you :D I don't mind 21 Seconds though

That was ok, as was their song that got disqualified in late 2000

the only good Oxide & Neutrino single was No Good 4 Me which I bought at the time (and still have)

yep, it missed the top 75...I remember hearing that it charted in the top 200 somewhere though

I bought it from HMV on the same day as buying A Camp's I Can Buy You

It had almost zero promotion here...I saw the video one time maximum

This song was just a bit ahead of its time in my opinion...made No.4 in 2000 but is rarely talked about now:
