"Studio 1" was really good, don't know why it was such a flop, it really deserved so much better. Glad they're recording new stuff.

No. A lot of fans cite Studio 1 as their fave AS album, it's the timing and promo that were all wrong. Material-wise it couldn't be stronger.

Totally agree. I'm sorry but their first two albums are pure filler aside from the singles, no way was the material the problem with Studio 1, it was infinitely stronger as an album than their first two by far.

This is unfortunately VERY true, the only album track I listen to even occasionally is Surrender.

I think the problem was that singles-wise, Rock Steady and Chick Fit just weren't as catchy as any of the early stuff, and RS only achieved top 3 off the back of the hype. Based on the material alone, it would never have reached that high, and that's why they came unstuck with Chick Fit after the fuss had died down a bit.

If they can come out with a few killer tracks (we KNOW they can do it; Never Ever and Pure Shores are proof), then I don't think there's any reason they can't resurrect themselves.

Really Rock Steady was absolute perfection: VERY catchy, a nice fresh sound for them, something that didn't sound as though it was trying to be 'youthful' - just plain good pop. However, much as I love Chick Fit, it was perhaps not the right choice for 2nd single - or if it was, it should've been promoted properly and given a video with a budget higher than £10.

This is how I'd have done it:

1st Single - Rock Steady

2nd Single - Scar

Album - Studio 1

3rd Single - Chick Fit

Scar is frankly WAY too amazing to go forgotten.

I think 'On And On' would have made an excellent third single had the project not gone down the pan, it's an ace ballad that would have also pleased fans of their older material. Then for a fourth I'd have either gone with 'Flashback', 'Headlock' or even 'Scar'.

And I wouldn't say 'Chick Fit' was a bad choice at all. I'd say it was the perfect choice, however after the album was a high-profile flop in such a way that anything they released after that would get no airplay whatsoever, minimal videoplay and of course the single being made download only didn't help.

I always found 'On And On' to be quiet overrated tbh, and 'Headlock'. 'Too Nasty' would be great though. :D
I loved On & On and One Me & You

Overall rate 8.5/10

'Do Me' was AMAZING, had a lot of potential but sadly was only a b-side for 'Rock Steady'. :(

I second that, the beat was amazing

I looked to try to find ANY confirmation that there even was a press conference and can't find any.

I don't believe any of it.

I think they should have released:

1st single - Rock Steady

2nd single - Fundamental (great ballad, amazing chorus)

3rd single - In It To Win It

4th single - Scar / Hell No

I don't choose On and On, because it's a weak song as a single.

I hope they do, Studio 1 was much better than it was given credit for...

well i might listen to it later. its on the £1 pile at the moment just in case i run out of other new things to listen to
