I agree as in press wise EastEnders cant win,the press has in general been against them no matter what, the reason i prefer EastEnders to the other soaps is i find it is gritter than the other soaps and has more of an edge to it,tonights episode was fantastic and here in Ireland its shown on a station called RTE 1 before the show started they did state that some scenes may offend viewers i dont know if bbc said that before the show,

the programme was well scripted and superbly acted and one of the other soaps could deliver a shocking episode like eastenders did tonight, the episode asnt blown out of proportion and it wasnt far fatched it was as real as possibly be so let the people who complain complain about something else

EastEnders is on top of its game right now and has been for a while but im sure the press wont admit that, the press adores corrie because its the longest running soap/programme in the uk for me longest running does not mean its the best.

What annoys me the most about the press negativity is when eastenders ratings were low the press went on and on about it,now that the show has climbed back up around 9- 10 million they dont mention it,at the moment ratings wise eastenders is in or around level with corrie and its thrashing emmerdale so let them write about that for a change,as for the national tv awards eastenders truly deserved to win best soap without shadow of a doubt.

That episode was just perfect in every single way.

Brilliant acting - Stephen Lord (Jase) and Emma Barton (Honey) being the stand outs. Emma can really do comedy well, but we now know that she can do dramatic peformances, fantastic.

The scene was a bit frightening, but it was brilliantly done. It must have taken bloody ages to get it right!

yes im sure the whole episode took ages to do as it was perfect in the end and the smashing up im sure took a few goes,

yes honey has proved she can do serious acting scenes also but as a charactor i prefer her when she is ditzy

PLEASE - no more old characters returning.

What the hell was all that about?

"I own ya".

I'd laugh in his face.

Honey's been great recently, even in the most dire situations, she still comes out with some great one-liners, she's been underused by the show in recent months, nice to see her and Billy back to the forefront. Much more interesting than the previous Branning/Mitchell sisters show.
i agree she has been under used and i think honey coul dbe a younger version of dot with brilliant one liners
There has been over 1000 complaints to offcom about Eastenders this week - lolllll

sheesh, people will complain to Ofcom at the drop of a hat these days.

Eastenders was quite violent this week, but it was a great programming compared to some of the usual stuff. Those 1000 people need better ways to kill time.

No, no, no, no, no, no. Charity or not, there's just no excuse for that embarrassment. And who the hell is going to take Sean seriously as a psychotic hard-man after that? Or Max as a cold-hearted businessman or Shirley as a tough-talking alcoholic.

Interesting to see most of big names (Ian, Peggy, Phil, Pat, Stacey, Dot) had the sense to stay clear.

I kinda do like the children in need special, its not they are going to release the song!

And as for the complaints, it's pathetic. Yes it was violent, but it was on the best pieces of TV this year.
