I think it's because of xmas and that no one would be watching it around that time, mind u that cam from wikipedia so it may be because of the TV strike

In America it's the norm for big shows to go on hitaus from the end of November/early December and then they return normally mid-way through January. However there's not many shows that still have episodes left to run that haven't already started showing yet.

 

The writers strike is still on, and still will be for some time imo. Some of the big networks aren't too fussed about some shows coming back as they've got big shows starting soon (such as Lost and American Idol) that will be ratings winners so they're likely to want to hold off giving in to the writers as long as possible. Byt the ways things are looking at the moment, it looks as if shows like UB etc. might not even come back in September!

Er yeah.

 

Script and line to lines, the writers also have to write out plots that will link to future plots, scene and stage directions, facial expressions, clothes + style, etc. etc.

Yeah I can't see it being back before September tbh. There's no sign of any movement in talks yet and as you say the networks have enough to tide them over programme wise for some time. If things continue in a similar fashion through till March I wouldn't expect this and other programmes to return till early next year.
