It has got it's first play today, and it is fan-bloody-tastic.   Its miles more rocky than the original. Much more exciting him and has a very modern feel to it. His voice sounds excellent. Has that classic Rob/Guy feel to it, and I can't stop listening to it. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: I soooooo hope there are loads of rock songs on his next album because he does such an amazing job of these sort of songs.

Anyone who wants it just say so and I will send you a link as it is not allowed to be posted on here. ^_^

Oh so you got it Maria - great :D

Glad you like it. Such a great song

Have I told you lately I love you?

although I can't listen yet because I can't download from work!! A friend is downloading and sending it to me though.

Listening now...it almost doesn't sound like him at first! the backing vocals are too loud...sometimes it's hard to hear him.

I do LOVE it though!!

I love the backing vocals and the really loud music :P It makes it very different from the original and much more rocky
I love it too, but I think they should have turned the backing vocals down a bit. Esp. at the end...it's very hard to hear Rob's deep voice.

Yay!

I can´t wait to listen when I get home

I will say it's INCREDIBLY sexy when Rob giggles in the middle...gggrrrrOWL!!!

It's wicked :music:

and it is not because I'm a fan of his, it is such a good cover where he marks his own special stamp on it.

he sounds sexy and I just luv LA Lola.

Worth the early morning alarm call and now I can't get the tune out of head. It's driving me nuts

Yes, it's been planned for ages now. It's for Radio 1's 40 Anniversary CD out next month, it's full of covers of tracks of each year from 67 :D

ALL OVER MY BODY!!

LOL I was thinking the same thing....let robbies voice come through you damned

back up singers!!

I had no idea it was being previewed on Radio 1 today. Here's the thing. I never listen to Radio 1. This morning I went into my car to drive to work. I was about 10 minutes earlier than normal. I tried to switch on my CD player but hit the wrong button and got Radio 1 on the garage set pre-sets. And guess what I heard right away?

Chris Moyles saying 'and here is Robbie Williams's version of Lola' :o How spooky is that?

Anyway, please don't shoot me. I'm not in the best of moods. It may need a few listens. But.....

I didn't think it was anything special. I expected much more. It's too true to the original. But the original has more spark. I thought it sounded quite lacklustre. Like he was going through the motions. And you can hardly hear his voice for the excessive production and backing vocals.

I expected some sort of growley, glam rock type extravaganza. I just heard a middle of the road rendition.

But I love the song. And I'm sure when I've heard it some more (and up real loud) I'll love this version too. But I was kind of disappointed on first impression.

Oh I don't think it's true to the original at all. You have to listen to it a few times up really loud. I listened to both this and the original one after the other and there is a huge difference. This is a million times rockier and has more of an edge to it. I adore the original, but this is just so fresh and exciting. The original sounds like a ballad compared to this

But you did'nt like his cover of Louise either so who knows. Maybe you just don't like him covering songs you love alot :o
