May 7, 200619 yr The episode was OK I suppose. Sophia Myles acted the part well- although I didn't really care much about her character and the clockwork robots were a bit rubbish. I didn't find this story that interesting, and I actually don't like it much when they meet real historical figures. I'm not sure why. I guess I can suspend my disbelief as far fictional alien races and the far future is concerned, but not so much them getting up to supernatural stuff with people who actually existed like Charles Dickens, Queen Victoria and Madame de Pompadour. Yeah, I see what youre saying there...I kinda had a problem with that too, but I guess if we thought about it, they have the Tardis and can go anywhere and meet anyone they want to...it's more sort of believable for them to do that than to have alien races were people have cat faces etc Maybe they pick historical figures because theyre lives are known and they can write about them easier, plus the viewers know who they are...but it is kinda silly that they just 'bump' into them, its like "ohh lets go to Dickens time" and the only person existing there is Dickons and a few others. Small world. :D
May 7, 200619 yr I'm unsure about the Cybermen episode to be honest, the more I'm reading about it, the more I'm dreading the awful feeling that The Cybermen are gonna be turned into some sort of second-rate 'Borg' copies.... I've also heard that Russel T Davis has seriously mucked around with the Cybermen's origins....

I agree, except maybe with the Dickens one. I don't really like seeing well known people in it. I mean, we've got Trigger from Only Fools And Horses in the Cyberman episode.

May 7, 200619 yr ......... erm..... why didnt he get in the tardis and go back to france before she died to get her? One of the time rules is you cant change the past or save people who died etc. Though he could have went back to the time he left her and still took her travelling. I guess it was to show how he had to let things be in the end and not interfere anymore
