Donovan and Minogue were one of the world's hottest couples in 1988, but the singer ended the relationship to begin a love affair with Australian rocker Hutchence Recalling the encounter in his autobiography Between The Lines, he says, "We got the best seats in the house that evening and backstage passes as well, and when the show came to an end we were asked whether we wanted to come and meet the band. "I wasn't the only one to notice the buzz between Kylie and Michael that night. I'd noticed him staring at her when we met backstage. He kept whispering in her hair and she kept laughing." Minogue started dating Hutchence in 1989, but split up three years later (1993). Hutchence died in 1997.
