Posted October 1, 200717 yr Britney Spears loses custody of her kids October 1, 2007 Los Angeles - An L.A. County Superior Court Judge has ruled that Britney Spears has lost physical custody of her kids. Mark Vincent Kaplan, Federline’s attorney, paid a visit to Los Angeles Superior Court Monday morning to discuss Britney Spears driving illegaly - without a valid drivers license - while her children were in the car with her this past weekend. As a result, a Los Angeles judge on Monday took away Spears' custody rights and ordered to turn over her boys to Federline by Wednesday, Access Hollywood is reporting. They will remain with him until further notice. The ruling says: "Respondent's oral motion pursuant to section 214FC is granted and the matter proceeds as a closed hearing. The court and all parties present confer on the record that the court makes its order as fully reflected in the notes of the official court reporter. The court's prior order including the orders made on September 28, 2007 remain in full force and effect with the following modification: Respondent is to retain physical custody of the minor children on Wednesday October 3rd, 2007 at 12 PM until further order of the Court. Repondent's ex- parte application is noticed for October 3, 2007 at 1:30 PM in Department 88.' source http://www.tmz.com/ & http://www.perezhilton.com/ Edit: ET is reporting it aswell http://www.etonline.com/
October 1, 200717 yr This has just been updated as the front story of Reuters.Com so it is true: Judge grants custody of Spears' kids to ex-spouse Mon Oct 1, 2007 4:28pm EDT LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A judge on Monday ordered that pop star Britney Spears' ex-husband, Kevin Federline, take custody of their two children until further notice, starting Wednesday, court documents showed. The order, issued by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon, stated that Federline "is to retain physical custody of the minor children (starting at noon) on Wednesday ... until further order of the court." Representatives for Spears and Federline were not immediately available for comment. The judge's order came 10 days after the 25-year-old singer was charged with hit and run and driving without a valid license. October 1, 200717 yr Britney Temporarily Loses Custody of Sons MONDAY OCTOBER 01, 2007 03:55 PM EDT By Mike Fleeman http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20...ss-topheadlines Britney Spears must hand over custody of her sons to Kevin Federline this week "until further notice of the court," a judge ruled Monday after a closed-door hearing. L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon gave no reasons in his written decision, issued after lawyers met with him in a private session requested by Federline's lawyer. The ruling says that Federline gets custody starting Wednesday. But the ruling came after the filing of misdemeanor charges against Spears – hit-and-run and driving without a valid California license – and claims by her ex-bodyguard that she used drugs and is a danger to her children, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. Gordon also previously found that Spears is a "habitual, frequent and continuous" user of alcohol and controlled substances, and ordered her to submit to random twice-weekly testing. Another hearing is set for Wednesday. The singer, who has 50-50 custody with Federline, was seen around town with her children over the weekend, and on Sunday they had an early dinner at Taverna Tony in Malibu, as a crush of paparazzi camped outside. "She seemed fine," the restaurant's owner, Tony Koursaris, says. "She was very comfortable having dinner here with her boys. ... The kids had a good time. Then we had to fight the paparazzi, of course." The photographers, however, did come in handy for Spears at one point over the weekend. Around midnight Saturday, her Mercedes ran out of gas during a supermarket run. The photographers went to the gas station and helped Spears tank up her vehicle.
October 1, 200717 yr Well if that doesn't jolt her into action I don't know what will. A public death of Kevin Federline should do the trick
October 1, 200717 yr If this is what it takes for her to wake up & smell the coffee, then good. Hopefully this is the beginning for her to get her sh*t together.
October 1, 200717 yr Author If this is what it takes for her to wake up & smell the coffee, then good. Hopefully this is the beginning for her to get her sh*t together. I agree
October 1, 200717 yr She really needs to wake up & start taking care of the kids, I don't think Kevin can take care of the children too, he just wants her money. I feel sorry for the kids :(
October 1, 200717 yr A public death of Kevin Federline should do the trick  Oh don't be stupid  There are children involved, and to be fair it serves her right. Even if the media are partly to blame, there has got to be a fire already burning for the wind to spread it. When you publicly drink, drive with your baby on your lap, nearly drop them and with rumours of drugs, it's in the childrens best interest they are as far away as possible, it shouldn't make a f*cking difference be it her or a mum on a council estate. Hopefully [for the childrens sake - I couldn't care less about her] this is the kick she needs to clean herself up and get it together. Edited October 1, 200717 yr by Exodus

So let me get this straight you'd rather the children went to a bloke who walked out on his ex-missus who was pregnant at the time He never pays her any money, or shows the slight bit of interest in her kids you think HE deserves the children?
October 1, 200717 yr Author Im sure kevin will be a good father of those kids just like his other kid froma previous relatioship.

Moreso than a mentally unstable mother who has more than enough trouble looking after herself, nevermind two other lives. I'm no fan of Mr Federline by any means, but he's always looked after his children from previous relationships when they have been in his care, even if he's wild when they aren't around. It's hardly as if she needs money from him either, and it's hardly like he has too much  Tbh, neither of them are suitable, the children should be put into care. It would be in their best interests. Edited October 1, 200717 yr by Exodus

It is irrelevent what he or anyone else on BuzzJack thinks. What does matter is that a Judge who is qualified to decide these matters, thinks Kevin Federline is a better parent than Britney Spears. He could have easily decided that neither was good enough to look after their children and in which case an alternative decision would have been reached. What anyone of us could see however, that Britney Spears is a walking tragedy (not so longer waiting to happen). Her meltdown over the last three years is arguably the most disturbing thing I have seen within the music industry. Her "performance" at the MTV VMAs was shocking to see, how a once great magnetic performer who was once destined to replace Madonna as the Queen of Pop has suddenly turned into a tragic Elvis Presley in the last few years of his life. Only the most blinkered of fans can deny that her performance was done under the influence of either alcohol or drugs. The last thing Britney Spears should have done was record & release a new album due out within the next two months, she should have taken a leaf out of Robbie Williams' book and taken time out to "get her $hit together" first. Suddenly, this song that Duran Duran wrote with Justin Timberlake for Britney's new album, which Britney turned down, and producer Timbaland was furious about as it sounds like a surefire huge hit in the making (presumably because it rings to close to home) seems very, very appropriate: OMHxmt0hUTA Duran Duran - Falling Down (Lyrics: Simon Le Bon / Justin Timberlake) " Once was a man who consumed his place and time He thought nothing could touch him But here and now it’s a different storyline Like the straw he is clutching Why has the sky turned grey Hard to my face and cold on my shoulder And why has my life gone astray Scarred by disgrace, I know that its over Because I’m falling down With people standing round But before I hit the ground Is there time Could I find someone out there to help me? Howl at the wind rushing past my lonely head Caught inside it’s own motion How I wish it was somebody else instead Howling at all this corrosion Why did the luck run dry Laugh in my face, so pleased to desert me Why do the cruel barbs fly? Now when disgrace can no longer hurt me Because I’m falling down With people standing round But before I hit the ground Is there time Could I find someone out there to help me? Because I’m falling down With people standing round But before I hit the ground Is there time Could I find someone out there to help me? I don’t know…. Why… "
