Posted October 2, 200717 yr soo... they are handing out tax cuts, reduce/cancel stamp duty and raise inheritance tax threshold. fair enough, two reasonable propositions, but apart from that is cameron and co really capeable of running the country? are they a credible oposition? can they beat thatcherbrown?
October 2, 200717 yr As a party do I think they are ready to govern again ? Yes Is Cameron a credible leader ? NO Cameron reminds me of Blair he is smarmy, insincere, fake, says what he thinks newspaper editors want him to say, would he make a good statesman ? No I don't think he would, one thing Brown has in his favour is he is a good statesman and looks professional in times of crisis, Cameron is all soundbites and PR stunts (cycling to work every day for instance as a PR stunt while at the same time having a gas guzzling chauffer driving behind him with his briefcase in the car) Cameron will cost us the next election I think even though the party itself is ready to govern
October 2, 200717 yr I like Cameron as he speaks out against a lot of issues that Labour are happy to just sit on the fence on, though his policies wont work imo
October 2, 200717 yr Author I like Cameron as he speaks out against a lot of issues that Labour are happy to just sit on the fence on, though his policies wont work imo but its all hot air, hes just talking, theres no substance to him.

October 2, 200717 yr Historically the Tories have been known as the stupid party. They showed themselves to be worthy of that label by electing a Blair clone when Blair mark one was at his least popular.
October 2, 200717 yr I give Cameron credit for coming down firmly against compulsory ID cards, but that sure aint enough to actually make me want to vote for the smug, smarmy little Blair-lite git....

The Lib Dems, OTOH, have opposed them consistently.

October 2, 200717 yr Of course they are a credible opposition, but a credible Government.......well that's something completely different ;)
October 3, 200717 yr General election to be called tomorrow by Brown (Nov 1st) After Cameron's pledges on stamp duty, inheritance tax and immigration looks like Brown could well lose this coming election even with a buffoon like Cameron leading the party Tax and immigration will be the 2 big issues of the next general election and we blow Brown out of the water on both issues

The Lib Dems, OTOH, have opposed them consistently. Considering the Tories had so many leadership changes actually identifying their policy on just about anything was pretty difficult....

October 3, 200717 yr nonsense... labour will p*** it. camerons full of hot air and i doubt if anyone takes what he says seriously. Disagree The tabloids (Mail, Express and The Sun) will all express their support for Cameron and that could be crucial in the polls Do not underestimate how big this inheritance tax thing is in terms of bringing votes to the party not to mention stamp duty People vote with their wallets and if their wallets are going to bulge through stamp duty and inheritance tax then I think we have a new PM in a month time
