Posted October 3, 200717 yr Anyone else here bought this? I got it today and to be quite frank, its f***ing awesome. Best compilation I own bar none ^_^ My faves so far have to be Kaiser Chiefs - Flowers In The Rain, Fratellis - All Along The Watchtower, Robbie - Lola, The Streets - Your Song () and Foo Fighters - Band On The Run I think all the artists so far have done the originals proud, and i'd highly recommend this to anyone who hasnt already bought it
October 3, 200717 yr You're kidding!? The Streets version of 'Your Song' is one of the worst covers ever...and there's very few great covers on there, most sound like they were slapped down in one take.

October 3, 200717 yr There are some really bad covers on it. :( My favs though have to be Mark Ronson and The Kooks. ^_^
October 3, 200717 yr There are some really bad covers on it. :( My favs though have to be Mark Ronson and The Kooks. ^_^ I've only listened to the first CD so far, but my favourites: Kasier Cheifs - Flowers In The Rain Amy Winehouse - Cupid (Not as good as Valerie though.) Robbie Williams - Lola Sugababes - Betcha By Golly, Wow Kylie Minouge - Love Is The Drug (Is it me or has she put on some sort of British Accent on this? ) The Gossip - Careless Whisper Foo Fighters - Band On The Run Personally, I was dissapointed by Lily Allen, Mika & James Morrison. And they could of chosen better songs, ones I've heard of.
October 3, 200717 yr ONE question though, the song The Feelings - You're So Vain, Was that used as a sample on Janet Jacksons Son Of A Gun?
October 3, 200717 yr ONE question though, the song The Feelings - You're So Vain, Was that used as a sample on Janet Jacksons Son Of A Gun? Yeah. I want to get this, Kylie's cover is awesome of course. ^_^
October 4, 200717 yr The Streets song is a joke  Razorlight are ok :) Not impressed with Klaxons and Keane though :o
October 4, 200717 yr Yeah. I want to get this, Kylie's cover is awesome of course. ^_^ The Kylie song is the biggest surprise for me. I'm not a fan of hers and I don't particularly like the original song but her version is brilliant.
October 6, 200717 yr I think The Streets version of "Your Song" is the worst one on there to be honest. My favourites were: Foo Fighters- Band On The Run Sugababes- Betcha By Golly Wow The Gossip- Careless Whisper Mutya Buena- Fast Car The Twang- Drinking In L.A Hard-Fi- Toxic

It's weird because this is the first post that popped up when I came in here, and this song is the exact reason I hunted this thread down. It is without a doubt the WORST cover, scratch that, SONG I've ever heard  I bought it because I wanted to hear different takes on classic songs but a) most of the songs on CD1 I don't know and B] some are just bad :( Edited October 6, 200717 yr by Slick

October 6, 200717 yr This is tosh apart from the Amy Winehouse and Gossip covers. The Gossip have managed to take a song I loathe and turn it into something I quite like! The Kylie cover is not very good, no way near as good as the original and as for Hard-Fi ... Jesus! But the worst has to be Kasabian. It sounds as though they are sleepwalking through Too Much Too Young. It sounds lethargic and lazy and I absolutely love Kasabian. Their cover of Pictures of Matchstick Men is much better.
