Bono won't Spice up Girls

U2's manager ridiculed a daft tale that was circulating last week claiming Bono is writing a song for the Spice Girls.

 

At the Q bash, the band's legendary boss, Paul McGuinness, told me: "We're great fans of the Spice Girls. But rumours that Bono is to join them as a sixth member are sadly not true."

 

But I can reveal that music man of the moment Mark Ronson does want to work with the five.

 

Mark has made some amazing remixes for the likes of Amy Winehouse, Robbie Williams and Lily Allen.

 

I think it would be a brilliant idea to bring their old tracks up to date.

 

Mark told me: "I love the Spice Girls. I think their music is great. My sister has messed around with a couple of remixes of their songs. I would love to do a remix of 'Stop' -- that's easily my favourite."
