May 25, 200619 yr Hmmmm, I don't really see the point to this to be honest. Kevin Smith has always followed up on his characters throughout his films, so in essence they're really all sequels on one level....
May 25, 200619 yr Author Hmmmm, I don't really see the point to this to be honest. Kevin Smith has always followed up on his characters throughout his films, so in essence they're really all sequels on one level.... suppose so, still all part of the View Askewniverse but still more exciting than the butterfly effect 2 and bring it on 3
September 5, 200618 yr Author its a five star film and its out on the 22nd according to the magazine. so excited by this!!!
September 19, 200618 yr Author i was shocked at the film 2006 review last night, with all the $h!te knob jokes that Jonathan Ross sometimes comes out with (even in the first episode of Japanorama he was making a tossing off joke towards nigo the dude from A Bathing Ape) it was unbelievable that he thought it was one of the worst films ever (along with all the other Kevin Smith Viewaskew films) saying how immature it was. :o :o :o
September 23, 200618 yr This is getting rather seriously mixed reviews... I've read some pretty horrendous reviews of this.... Some critics giving it two stars, or even one star...... Oh dear.....
September 26, 200618 yr I've seen it, great for laughs, comedies like this will always get bashed by the critics.

September 27, 200618 yr Saw this last night, "Clerks 2" is not a 5-star film, it's not as good as the first "Clerks" film - but then, if we're being totally honest Kevin Smith has never really quite matched the brilliance and freshness of his low-budget debut, no matter how much we may have enjoyed "Chasing Amy" and "Dogma", "Clerks" is still the film he will be best known for... What "Clerks 2" is, however, is probably the best US comedy of the year.... Well, not that that's really saying much to be honest when one looks at utter trash like "Little Man" or "You, Me and Dupree", which seems to typify US filmic comedy these days.... But no, "Clerks 2" is a good film, just not a great one like the original was, and as in the original, it is Randall who pretty much steals the show - there are some great Randall moments in "Clerks 2" - the browbeating of a "Lord of the Rings" fan, a 'discussion' of racial epithets, the 'inter-species erotica' sequence which Randall initiates as a 'going away' present for his life-long friend Dante (this is just plain WRONG, but so funny.... ). The problem with it is that it's just way too predictable (something you could never accuse the original of), you just know that Dante is gonna come to his senses and go off with the girl he really loves, because that's what ALWAYS happens in films like this.... Frankly I thought Kevin Smith would have given us something a little more than just another film of this type, even if it is quite a cut above all the others of this type...

Trust the man:  if only Julianne Moore could have got shot within the first half hour of that film, as well as the rest of the cast. i would have given that 5 out of five as well. :please: any i suppose if you are gonna make lowbrow jokes you are gonna have to go the whole hog, just like parker and stone/kevin smith normally do etc etc rather than try to make knob jokes in some kind of 'arent we upscale New Yorkers type thing' So final scores: 1 for the new yorkers, 4 for the dudes from New Jersey!! :yahoo:

Elias was great too!!!

September 29, 200618 yr so did you say clerks or clarks at the cinema when you got your tickets? I dunno to be honest.... Cant remember.... I think it was a sort of combination of both, my accent's gotten really fukked up in the four years since moving down to London....

October 6, 200618 yr Author Saw this last night, "Clerks 2" is not a 5-star film, it's not as good as the first "Clerks" film - but then, if we're being totally honest Kevin Smith has never really quite matched the brilliance and freshness of his low-budget debut, no matter how much we may have enjoyed "Chasing Amy" and "Dogma", "Clerks" is still the film he will be best known for... i think i prefered the second one. i suppose my view would be different if i hadnt watched the first one last. find it hard getting into b+w films (bilko and munsters are alright  for about 20 mins  ). well longer b+w film anyway. watched la haine the other day as well, and had to stop it and go back into it. once i got back into it and not put off by the monocrome, thought it was a good film when i got to the end. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/30/Haine.jpg think this might be the same with clerks. but then again didnt find anything as funny as the 'porch m*nkey 'routein or the 'trilogy' stuff. (plus when Becky came into the 'sit on my face and tell me that you love me' discussion things picked up totally). i dont know if i missed a bit of the film (when i had to move from my dad's room to the lounge as he wanted to go to bed), or if it was censored by itv4, or if the part was an extra on the dvd. but i didnt see the part where they are ordering really really dodgy hardcore pwano videos and go on and on with the most disgusting titles ever for about a minute. i've only read about his in the mag. is this part in the film?
