In 1969, as many of you probably know, there was no tie-break system and there were four winners. These winners were all very different. Have a look at each of them and vote for your favourite!

FRANCE 1969 - Frida Boccara - Un Jour, Un Enfant

NETHERLANDS 1969 - Lenny Kuhr - De Troubadour

UNITED KINGDOM 1969 - Lulu - Boom Bang-A-Bang

SPAIN 1969 - Salomé - Vivo Cantando

France should've been the only winner. The other three can't come close, not even Lulu's song.

Even without that victory we'd still have the 2nd most wins ;) And overall we're still the most successful Eurovision nation with 5 wins, about 15 2nd places and one or two 3rd places :cheer:

Most successful countries have finished last at some point or another tbf. The UK, Germany, Ireland, France, Spain. Actually I dunno if France ever have but they often do $h!t.

Nope, France have never finished bottom. The closest they've come is second bottom, which they did in 1973, 1998, 2000, 2005 and 2006. (Excluding 1956, but then, which the exception of the winning song, no-one knows what came where.)

Yep France are the only country to have a less successful record than UK in 21st Century Eurovision!
They did have two top 5s in a row earlier this decade so I would argue they've done better than us, seeing as on average we've had bad to mediocre positions thus far...I'm certain Portugal have done worse than us thus far :heehee:

Actually I've not idea where I plucked that statistic from because you're right...I think it's if you just take into account the finals or something then France are the only country to be less successful than us since the introduction of the semi-final.

I'm sure the statistic I heard was more significant than that lol....but the above is definitely true! :P
