Posted October 13, 200717 yr Just how much longer have we to endure the rubbish Rugby World Cup. It seems as though it's never going to end - it must have been going on for a month already All the ITV schedules have gone to pot - I have heard many people missing their favourite shows because they have either been re-scheduled without notice or cancelled altogether. Take tonight for instance - No X Factor - Tomorrow Night (Sunday) no episode of The Royal. When there are sports marthons on like this they should have a special channel for them. ITV are not the only ones. On BBC2, Flog-It is always getting cancelled for stupid golf & snooker. Then there's the European Football creating more casualties. Next year there will be the Olympics (even though I like these), but other programmes should not be cut for people who are not interested. There should be a dedicated sports channel for this lot so that people who are not interested in them can watch their favourite programmes. Edited October 13, 200717 yr by Euro Music

The Rugby World Cup is only on once every 4 years.. And it deserves it's Airplay as much as other shows do

Should'nt the question be how much longer we have to put up with the pathetic excuse for a talent competition = The X Factor. Mind you I wouldn't mind seeing Simon Cowell & Louis Walsh have to face England's Rugby Union scrumage pack.
October 13, 200717 yr Well I agree it does mess up the TV schedule but these events don't happen very often and there's a lot of interest in them, and i'm sure that certain events HAVE to be shown on terrestrial as there's some sorts of rules about it.
October 13, 200717 yr and I'm sick of seeing soaps on ITV every night -_- absolutely no need for 2 eps of Corrie on Mondays and Fridays
October 13, 200717 yr The final is on the 20th October 2007 The reason the tournament seems to be taking so long is that, unlike football or the X factor, rugby is a very physical game and teams need time between matches to be stitched back together. Take tonight for instance - No X Factor - Tomorrow Night (Sunday) no episode of The Royal. oh dear ...... how will you cope?
October 14, 200717 yr Author Well I agree it does mess up the TV schedule but these events don't happen very often I disagree with you there. Next year it's the Olympics (duration 2 weeks) and the Football Euro 2008 (duration 2 weeks) The in 2010 there's the Commonwealth Games (duration 10 days) and the World Cup (duration about 3 weeks). 2011 will bring us back to the Rugby again (about another 5 weeks or that's what it seems like). 2012 will again be the Olympics & the Football Euro 2012 So it seems there is only 1 year in 4 we don't have any of these events. Even so the schedules are messed about with for domestic football, the European Champions League etc. Somedays the Rugby has had as much as 6 hours coverage a day which is terrible for non-rugby fans like me, especially if they haven't yet got digital. October 14, 200717 yr I don't see how it messes up the schedule when big sporting events are infact part of the schedule.

Domestic live football is never on terrestrial TV. But like I said before i'm sure there's some sort of law that states Wimbeldon, World Cups, Euros, Olympics etc. have to be shown on terrestrial TV no matter what.
October 19, 200717 yr and I'm sick of seeing soaps on ITV every night -_- absolutely no need for 2 eps of Corrie on Mondays and Fridays  and there's no need for these "Emmerdale" one hour specials to co-incide with "Eastenders" just to nab the ratings figures!!!!

I mean, no one seems to object when it's the footie World Cup, and frankly all you English folks should be shouting from the rooftops at your team's success instead of moaning about it messing up your precious "X-Factor" or "Emmerdale"... Let's face it, your rugger team is showing a lot more guts and spirit than your pampered, overindulged, overpaid football w/ankers ever could..... Unless of course it's that you just dont like sport of any kind that is.....

I know what you mean! I just want England to prove everyone wrong. Unlike the football team, over the past couple of years everyone's written the England rugby team off but now we're back in business!
October 20, 200717 yr 5 minutes to go to the start of the World Cup Final: http://www.wesclark.com/rrr/bulldog_english.jpg C'mon England!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! South Africa have to be heavy favourites after thrashing us 3 times in the last 6 months, and after Argentina slaughtered France in the 3rd place play-offs. (Although BetFair.com only gives a +9 Points win to South Africa as parity) But all the pressure is on South Africa, as nobody expects them to lose, and that is the way we like it.
