Kylie plans return to stage as a Showgirl

Kylie Minogue is in the planning stages for a rescheduled Australian tour, nearly a year after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

 

Minogue is now considering concert dates in October or November according to web reports, which reveal the singer has attended planning meetings in London to reorganise for the postponed tour.

 

But despite the renewed activity surrounding tour planning, Minogue's manager, Terry Blamey, told The Sun-Herald from the UK yesterday that "nothing has been confirmed yet".

 

Tens of thousands of Australian ticket holders have held seats for Minogue's concert tour for nearly a year.

 

Her first concert date had been scheduled for Sydney on May 20 last year, but instead she was preparing to undergo surgery at Melbourne's private Cabrini Hospital after a cancerous lump was discovered in her breast.

 

The singer has since undergone months of chemotherapy and radiation therapy in Australia and France.

 

But while Minogue's recovery has been her key focus for the past 12 months, behind the scenes the singer is said to be keen to reorganise her tour so she can make a triumphant return to stage. She is also rumoured to be considering headlining the Glastonbury rock festival next year (an appearance there was cancelled last year because of the cancer diagnosis), but any appearance by Minogue on stage is likely to take place under the advice of doctors.

 

Her Showgirl tours of Europe, the UK and Ireland - staged before the cancer diagnosis - featured rigorous dance routines and costume changes. Australian fans will see an altered version of the show, because of Minogue's ongoing health considerations.

I heard about a rumoured return for the show in October, which is all good and well as long as she's feeling up to it. Her health comes first for me.

do you guys think if the showgirl tour is donev very different for the ausssie tour that there is a chance it could get a dvd release as the opening night of the tour is gonna be a huge huge thing for kylie and i know i personnellly would love to see it in real and also love to have it on dvd

I think having a tour to reorganise and prepare for has given Kylie a goal and helped her with her recovery :) I hope she is clear of this terrible illness and can go from strength to strength :) The very fact that they are considering the rechedule must mean she is recovering well, lets hope it continues Good luck to her :)

ya i agree,,having a goal is always a good thing whether its an amount to save or weight to lose it keeps a person focused,,,,if its true that she is touring in aussie at the end of the year im sure something will be confirmed in th every near future
