Posted October 15, 200717 yr Butch D & the red heads - christmas when it snows is one of the latest songs battling it for the top spot at Christmas. It may be a novelty act but it has the Christmas feel which is what we need that time of year. There hasn't been a Xmas record in years. Don't let X factor take over the charts at christmas. Oh I think you can listen to this song on the myspace page. PS Please do not move this thread to the pop forum! :arrr: It can be move to chart chat if it doesn't belong here.
October 15, 200717 yr Yey I love having christmas novelty songs, you have to have a few each year ^_^ last year was rubbish for it.
October 16, 200717 yr Author Try and check out the song on their myspace page. I'm not sure what the link is sorry. I'll try and find it later.
October 16, 200717 yr Author You can listen to the song here http://www.myspace.com/butchdtheredheadz What do you think???
October 17, 200717 yr Butch D & the Redheadz for Chrsistmas number one? I have heard it and it is wicked! Do they have a record deal?
October 17, 200717 yr Author :arrr: Singing is dire. I think he is putting on the Brummie accent  then his voice seems to get better at the chorus. You need to listen to it more. You'll learn to love it ^_^
October 29, 200717 yr  Not sure what to make of it. It has the usual xmas sounds but the singing is a bit slow and whats with the chipmunk sound repeating every line. Still - It'll probably grow on me with a few more listens. We have to have Xmas music at crimbo. :)
November 12, 200717 yr 0qZo_6MjHxY Malcolm Middleton - We're All Going To Die Malcolm Middleton promises us death for Christmas BBC 6 MUSIC News Malcom Middleton has decided to join the race for Christmas number one. His single is called ‘We’re All Going To Die’. The track, which will wrestle for prevalence with the Spice Girls and the eventual X Factor winner among others, will be released on the 17th of December through Full Time Hobby. It has been given the longest ever odds to be number one come the 25th of December by bookmakers William Hill. “Dying is a bit like writing a letter to Santa,” withers Middleton. “Unless you've been a good boy or girl, you're f***ed.” Taken from his A Brighter Beat longplayer, released in February, the track can be heard at Middleton’s MySpace. It seems there is a semi-realistic push behind this – the Scot will join Colin Murray for the DJ’s Christmas Special, which will go out on Radio 1 on the day of single’s release and presumably see Murray banging on about someone called "Penyarday". Whilst Zane Lowe has already been playing the track on his show. He will also play a handful of live shows next month – see below for details of those, but first an early, alternative Christmas message courtesy of Middleton. “Although at first seemingly negative, the song is intended to make people think about being alive and making the most of our time here, which to me are your generic ‘Xmas’ themes." “Christmas is the best time for a song like this to be released into the mainstream consciousness, especially now in 2007… people don't want to be lied to by Cliff Richards any more. It's maybe time they were told what's really waiting for them inside their Christmas stockings.” Those shows: December 5 Glasgow ABC 6 Edinburgh Liquid Room 8 Minehead ATP 9 London Scala 10 Manchester Academy III With lyrics like “Ah, Christmas you f***ing c**t / keep bringing me memories that I didnae want.” don't you agree this is a worthy song to get behind and support or not?
November 21, 200717 yr I'd love Malc to get number one, but I think I'll back Amiina & Lee Hazlewood this year - not that anyone will ever get to hear it.
November 21, 200717 yr The Malc song isn't too bad. Not as good as I was expecting after reading the article though. I'd love another Mad World style song to come from nowhere and take the top spot. I seriously think this years X Factor winner will struggle to make 250,000. Maybe I'm just being hopeful but I can#t see any of them having lasting careers or being as big as Shayne or Leona.
