Winehouse in drugs arrest

(Friday October 19, 2007 01:11 PM)

Singer Amy Winehouse has spent the night in a Norwegian jail after being arrested for drug possession.

The troubled jazz star was detained along with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil in the city of Bergen after 7 grams of cannabis was found in her hotel room.

The couple were released after paying a fine of 500 euros (£350).

Prosecutor Lars Morten Lothe said: "We had a tip from a good source which led to police checking up on the tip.

"They were in a hotel room in the centre of Bergen," he said, adding that the case had been closed after "they signed a ticket, a fine, at the police station."

Currently on her European tour, the Rehab star is still due to perform a gig in Norway, moving on to Oslo on Saturday, before continuing to the Netherlands on Monday.

Winehouse's battle to kick her drug habit has been highly publicised and the singer spent a short spell in rehab after an alleged drugs overdose in August.

Apprently, however, America are mage-strict on not letting people in the country who have recent drug-possesion convictions. Could this hinder her chances, state-wise?

Depends on how much she had on her

They only got fined so I doubt its going to affect them
