wouldn't it be nice (and refreshing) to see the acts being given something a little less obvious and commercial?

No way could Alesha pull off Fighter :o

She's better doing R&B/soul music.

"One Thing" would be good, but we'll see what they come up with for her.

Hope doing Maneater would be very interesting

Can't see it happening - Louis thought Burt Bacharach's This Guy's in Love With you was "too obscure"

Im not excited about Shayne Ward being on there - boring!

I agree :puke2:

I hope futuristic is not all urban :(

He also said Futureproof were bland and giving nothing new  coming from the guy who manages Pestlife

Hope could shoot themselves in the foot doing a PCD/Girls Aloud track, it would only highlight further that their potential market is already covered by superior acts. If they hadn't already done a Rihanna song, I think "Shut Up And Drive" could have really worked for them.

Agree on "Left Outside Alone" for Niki, there aren't many real belters out there from the past few years with the indie/urban dominance, but Anastacia would suit her to the ground.

Leon's quite bland, I can just imagine him being lumbered with a Ronan Keating, James Blunt or Westlife. He needs something upbeat to stand out; the suggestion of Shine could work.

Rhydian's quite difficult at first, but I think he's got quite a lot of potential to really have a stand-out performance. If it wasn't for the fact that it's quite repetitive at the end, I think "With Every Heartbeat" would have been great, something with an euphoric edge.

Same Difference are in their element really, so much cheese to pick from. If the bloke doesn't mind camping it up, a Girls Aloud number could be fun; Love Machine or Biology? Or perhaps Sugababes "About You Know"?

Alisha found her niche with the Amy Winehouse track last week, maybe she needs to stick with the jazz edge; Ain't No Other Man perhaps?

Andy needs to have a relatively quiet song, that's obvious after is backing band pretty much drowned him out last week. Maybe Goodbye My Lover?

Beverley, like Niki, needs a song that allows for powerhouse vocals. The Alicia Keys suggestion would be great, but it might not be known enough, and she'd be at a disadvantage to the others. "Stop" by Jamelia might go OK for her.

Maybe Alisha won't be able to pull off Fighter, but how will we know if she doesnt try. If she goes with an R'n'B song, the audience will expect it and it leaves her open to comparisons with too many other established R'n'B artists. Louis Walsh will no doubt hightlight this further with his trademark "You remind me of a young *insert artist name here*" saying. To be honest not many acts this year are going to be able to perform any song as good as the original, I'd just like to see them all do something not so obvious, whether thats with their song choice or the way in which they perform it. They all need to show a bit of verstility and the ability to take on a challenge rather than sticking to whats comfortable, otherwise we will end up with about 2 or 3 artists that will have a bit of success, flop on their 2nd single and be dropped within a year. The judges just need to think outside the box when it comes to song choices. I've gotta say though, the suggestion of Rhydian doing Robyn - With Every Heartbeat is genious! It will never happen on the X Factor though.

Awful choices for Beverley, Hope and Leon.

Andy's sounds good on paper, but I think he could end up being drowned out by the backing band again on a song like Chasing Cars on the last chorus.

The rest seem fine though.

I dont think I no the song "put your records on" who sang that?

memory is bad lol

Corrine Bailey Rae :P

Ive been hoping that Alisha would do 'put your records on' all week, i think she should survive with that song. Im really not sure how Hope will pull off Amy Winehouse though.
