Posted May 14, 200619 yr Well its 99.9% likely that Ballack will sign for Chelsea tomorrow, and its also been announced that Schevschenko is 50/50 to join Chelsea. If Chelsea get both these players then they are massive signings, and it will also spell the end of some Chelsea players carrers as well. Because of these signings clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd can no longer bid for a huge player as Chelsea will easily be able to match them, and whilst Chelsea are AC Milan, Real Madrid etc, the other clubs are scowering clubs like Real Zaragoza to see if there is a player with the potential to become a huge star.
May 14, 200619 yr Yes. If it wasn't for Abramovic the title race would be alot wider and it wouldn't be Chelsea a dozen points ahead of the second placed team. They would be in 4th - 6th place without Abromivic. The league's become very boring and very predictable now. and with Ballack, Shevchenko, Tevez etc... All coming to Chelsea this season as it would seem it will be another year of Chelsea buying the league.
May 14, 200619 yr Of course they are ruining the League. They are the equivalent of playing Monopoly with unlimited money. It does not matter how incompetent they are, they should be able to outbid other clubs for Top players & win the League every year. The only hope opposition sides have got is with the Steven Gerrard's of the world who are not primarily motivated by greed & turn down offers to sign for Chelski, but sadly I fear there are not enough top players like that.
May 14, 200619 yr Well this season the gap has been a lot smaller then last season but still Chelsea are buying players for stupid money that no other club can afford and it's continuing yet I don't see why something should not be done about it. -_- If Abramovich didn't take over Chelsea though they'd be in a WORSE situation than Leeds as they were basically going bankrupt before he took over. However the FA Cup Final yesterday showed that it's not JUST them in the league ;) But still how long can this drag on? I suppose we'll just have to wait until he gets bored or for the arguments between him, Kenyon and Mourinho to get too much. -_-

Man.U and Arsenal have the money but they spend it on other things like the new stadium so shut up.
May 14, 200619 yr Man.U and Arsenal have the money but they spend it on other things like the new stadium so shut up. No we don't. No one can compare with Chelsea with money, yeah Arsenal have money like ALL clubs but we needed that new stadiums to compete with Chelsea.
May 14, 200619 yr I don't think Manchester United, Arsenal or Liverpool could operate with a £429 million loss over three years. <_<
May 14, 200619 yr Author Man Utd and Arsenal don't have much money to buy players, unless they sell, same with most premiership teams. I am fairly confident that either Liverpool or Man Utd or possibly even Arsenal could win the premiership this season. IMO they've got Ballack for one reason; to help them win the champions league. I doubt Tevez would be able to hack it in the premiership either.
May 14, 200619 yr The REAL champions are whoever comes 2nd Chelsea have bought the league and totally devalued it
May 14, 200619 yr Not really. It's better to have four dominant teams than three... It's ONE dominant team.
May 14, 200619 yr Good signing to help them win the champs league, but he might be a veron? who knows :D
May 14, 200619 yr It's ONE dominant team. Not really. They've won 3 out of a possible 16 trophies in 3 years. That is NOT dominant. If they were dominant, they would win everything. They lost what five games this season. A dominating side would lose less. And no, they can't buy anyone. Could they get Gerrard? No. Could they get Ronaldinhio? No. Edited May 14, 200619 yr by RabbitFurCoat

No. the reason they havent won that much in the last decade is becuase they've only just became a dominating team. when abromavic came he made them a dominating team by buying the league. there will be plenty more trophies for them in the next few years i'm sure.
May 14, 200619 yr Of course finance can give the best advantage whatever the business is. Look at the 2 recent monopolies investigations into the big supermarkets, 1 still ongoing. It is widely said that Blackburn bought the title in 1994/5. Jack Walker's finances are nothing compared to Roman Abramovich. Players may cost 4 or 5 times more than in 1994 but Abramovich's money is about 16 times more than Jack Walkers was. At todays player prices Abramovich could afford 350 players at 20m each and still be left with what Jack Walker had in 1995 (that's discounting interest!). If Chelsea were to buy an average 4 new players a season that's enough to be challenging for the league title for the next 100 years (discounting inflation!). Even if they didn't win the league, it is likely they would always finish in the top4 and probably qualify for the Champions League group stages at least - which is even more money compared to the other 16 Premiership teams. Thinking about it Chelsea have not ruined the league.
