Aww. That week she was over here before the album came out! Me and some friends were waiting for her. She ran up to us and screamed WE'RE NUMBER ONE IN JAPAN!

Bless her, she was so excited. Think it was her first number one there in yeeeears!

My friends were on her E Uncut programme. She took them backstage with her at top of the pops and they filmed it. I was soooooooooo jealous! :(

See that's what annoys me when people say Mariah is superficial etc, I don't know any other artist that is so personable with their fans like Mariah is, she even leaves messages for her fans on her website for Christ sake, again I don't know many artists that do that, and for an artist of Mariahs calibur it's really refreshing to know that one of the biggest stars on the planet can still be as thankful and down to earth as ever. ^_^

Mariah just has a very negative image in the press. Luckily, the image has improved this last year. Remember when she first arrived in the UK before the Mimi album and there was all this talk of the red carpet and candles. Ridiculous!

The majority of times I've met Mariah, she's been very friendly. It's her team that are rude. In the past they've said no to a photo with her and she's ignored them and given me photos anyway. The only time she won't stop and talk to fans is if she's running late... which is most of the time! :P

On that note, I'm gonna head off to bed. Plenty more revision to be done in the morning... and I imagine plenty more hours spent on here!

She sounds lovely!

Been great chatting to you!

Night night!

I did hear about your birthday my lover.

Did you enjoy? :o

Great Mariah moments!

I did a bit of part-time work at Boots of a night time last Christmas and they played Don't Forget About Us in the stock room, I didn't move until it was finished!

Yes I did thanks. Meal out with the family though my mother was annoyed at the lack of chocolate fudge cake on the dessert list. :arrr:

That sounds like what I would do.

'Get Your Number'.

In a club.

For the first and only time of my life.

It was ace.

"Oh damn!" etc.

Bit of Mariah Related Hyperness there Tim? ;)

Favourite Mariah moment for me was her birthday party last year! :P

:o Read through the thread, looks as if you had a great time. Lucky you.

Any others? :)

I almost did. My face says it all (I'm the guy gawping on the right)

Clicky

I suppose I should be happy I wasn't caught in such a strange expression as my friend Bobby (trying to hit a high note in the middle) :P

Wow, sounds like that was a GREAT night. Great picture.

Where IS Yasmin?

Didn't Graham say something( ) about revising for GCSEs? Hopefully Yasmin will be back and telling us all about meeting Mariah.

Not sure that Yasmin has seen this thread.

Another Mariah Related Moment today! :cheer: I was getting my hair cut when Say Something came on the radio. If I wasn't in the chair, I'd have been tempted to dance around the shop.

Anymore recently? :)

I heard Sweetheart (of ALL songs) in River Island today. :o
:o! I was in River Island today too :o! But all the clothes in the sale are like XL and I'm XS-S so meh! But Sweetheart :o! lol, that's a surprise, the only old songs I've heard on the radio from Mariah is: Always Be My Baby, Dreamlover + Vision Of Love, and then of course there is Hero and Without You :P... Ohhh and once I heard Fantasy in Mcdonalds (The ODB Remix)

Another Mariah moment of mine:

At the start of 2003 I was in hospital. A very scary and upsetting 2 days.

Once the scary bit was out of the way, and I knew I was safe enough, I had to lay around for a day waiting to be let out.

I played 'Charmbracelet' all the way through in my head. It killed a good hour.

You memorised and sang Charmbracelet in your head Tim?
It was weird. I got 'Through The Rain' in my head and it all went from there.
Lmao! That sounds so funny! Can you still remember all the words :o?

Lmao! That sounds so funny! Can you still remember all the words :o?

No. This was when I'd been listening to it non-stop for the first few months after its release (as I've done with every new Mariah album). I could mime along if the song was playing but I'm afraid I'd never be able to play it to myself today.

I'm not sure I'd want to. It's not very good, especially compared to 'Mimi' or her glorious 90s work.
